We visit Banska Bystrica few times a year because it's my home town. My father in law always stayed in hotel kuria becouse of its location and convenient parking.Our last stay at the hotel was shocking and we certainly won't be staying in kuria again. After finding out that fridge in our room wasn't working (we have a 18 months old daughter who drinks milk during the night and fridge is a must for us becouse opened milk needs to be stored at the fridge temperature ) the receptionist was no help at all and just said to wait till tommorow when a manager is in.Luckyli waiter saved the situation and offered us bucket with ice for a time being. It wasn't ideal but at least someone tried to solve the problem.Later that evening manager knocked on our door , appologied and promised the fridge will be fixed next day or we will be moved into different room ,she also got us another wine cooler with ice.The next day we waited and waited and no one bother to update us on the situation.So my father in law decided to find out from the receptionist . He was told we will be moved into diferent room and given room key.What a surprise when he checked the fridge in that room and it wasn't working !!!also I forgot to mentiom that fridge in his room was also not in working condition. |After shocking find that no one bothered to actually check he wanted to speak to manager who was apparently having lunch and couldn't be disturbed. He was also given another room key and luckyli the fridge worked.My husband started packing so we can move and I went downstairs with my father in law who wanted to speak to manager (who doesn't speak a word in english)hoping for apology as from our 2 days stay we spent one evening trying to get someone help us,next half day waiting for update and then one hour moving into different room. This was not what we were expecting from our stay. Unfortunately the manager of the hotel didn't understand what we were expecting from her and had a feeling that her knocking on our door last night was a problem solved. Apparently she was just on the way to give us a room key and didn't know about not working fridges.We know the cleaner has been aware of this issue. The manager also blamed me for not translating everything what she said to my father im law as he WAS their regular customer. After the accusations I was told Im the worst customer she ever had in her hotel and she wants us to move out .Even the receptionist was shocked at that statement. I would really leave the hotel that moment but my father in law promised he will sort the situation through the receptionist .|We stayed one more night and paid full price for the worst 2 days experience. |We also got no appology from the manager .|Its a hotel with a great location , clean spacious rooms and brilliant staff in restaurat but the manners of the manager of this hotel will take the hotel ...
Read moreI only stayed here for a night. |The hotel is situated a very short walk from the main town square. Parking is easy as the hotel has their own little parking lot down the side of the hotel. The hotel itself is a little bit odd to say the least. It almost feels like it's caught in the 1970s with its quirky bits of furniture and decor. |My room was surpringsly big, it had it's own little hallway, a foyer, a balcony, of course a decent sized bathroom with an exceedingly powerful shower. The main room was huge, with a sofa and chairs and all the usual bits you find in a hotel room. So all in all a decent place to stay. The only real negative about the place was the breakfast buffet. When I moved the car and was collecting my belongings from back seat, he aggressively started to give out to me. His problem was, that he had to tidy up the gravel again as my car did small wheel spin (hire car with strong engine, automatic).
