I stayed here for just one night, first booked in 2020.The hotel was very kind to give me credit for the original booking. I had a room on the top floor with a very comfortable bed for one person, but not a double with just 2 singles joined. The shower was small, but plenty of water pressure. I did not have shampoo in the bathroom, but did not ask. The rooms each have a theme and the hotel dates back 500 years I understand. There is no elevator. There is a gingerbread manufacturing area in the basement. The staff are wonderful, and very busy at the height of summer. Special mention to Alessa, who seems to multitask very well and always with a smile. The town is not far from Bled, but drive up early due to heavy traffic. Read moreFairytale is an accurate word to describe this place. It feels like the North Pole! A 500 year old building FILLLLED with gingerbread. ✨
Though slightly dated, our room was lovely - adorned with history and Slovenian trinkets. The bed is comfortable, the water is hot, the WiFi is reliable, the views of old town Radovljica are spectacular, and the staff is lovely (especially Simona). It’s an easy 15 minute bus ride to Bled, and the bus stop is a 5 minute walk away.
If you’re interested in Slovenian village history, gingerbread making, or feeling like you’re going back in time - I definitely recommend a night or two here.
Oh, and the restaurant downstairs is such an experience!! Incredible local cuisine.
I will forever remember my time at...
