I can only review the restaurant as I did not stay in the hotel.
The restaurant was good, but not as good as I expected. I went there on new years hoping for an amazing meal. The staff were excellent and super friendly, including the chef!
However, I was a bit disappointed with the menu. Don't get me wrong, it was really good, but not of the level I expected for a Michelin star restaurant. I've been to many, but this felt more like a really good restaurant (except the price is Michelin star grade :)).
The service as I said was really nice and I would not even bring up if I was going to any restaurant, it felt like being at home. However, I did notice the person in the table next to me went to the bathroom for about 10 minutes, and they came to serve him the main meat course while he was away! The plate must have sat there for at least 5 minutes, getting cold with time (not to mention the risk of leaving your customers food unattended). This did not happen to me but i was appalled even seeing it, would have definitely sent the food back if it was me.
In terms of the menu, I was expecting much more. Some dishes were EXCELLENT and I looved them, but I also struggled to find a cohesive story behind the whole meal. Some suggestions for improvement: Bread and 3 different types of butter. The butter was good butter but had NO taste of anything else other than normal butter, i could maybe taste some of the wild garlic, but was barely there. I've been to much simpler restaurants with much more special butter. Now, the butter did not ruin the experience, but it is also the first thing that comes on the table, looks great the way it is plated, so was just very disappointed that it all tasted so normal.
sauces and additives. Great sauces, but one same sauce was used in 2 or 3 different dishes, same for curry powder. I'm sorry but I also find this not acceptable for a restaurant of this grade, I would have appreciated more creativity. Curry powder made sense in one of the dishes, but i was seeing it everywhere! Would add it only if it makes sense, not just for decoration.
I was expecting a lot from their take on the sarma, but I have to say i was not impressed. It was relatively bland and way too many acidic ingredients, needed to be more balanced in my opinion. I would remove this one completely from the menu, it also made no sense with the rest of the courses.
This is not meant to be a negative review but hopefully a constructive one, the dishes overall were great and I really liked the good, it is just that I was expecting more. Maybe it's because I went there for new years eve, but I paid the same price for the menu so as a customer I am not expecting the service/food to...
Read moreWe haven't been in the hotel. Oue experience is abput the restaurant and the services they offer. We got as a present workshops for our kids. As our friend informs us workshops includes lunch for parents to try what kids were cooking. We were all excited, the first the kids. Because of covid and life we needed to postpone one and another time the workshop. Finally we were going next February. Kids are waiting to use they bday present for more than half an year. My mother comes on a visit and I contact them to included my mother on the lunch and also to ask for workshop for our 3 child. Price have changed because of their new location and they nicely keep the previous price. But something I don't get it. After few emails up and down I still don't caught it. Because she just send us one link os the content of the link, but she does not take time for real explanation. Last email she answer with capital letters like screaming on me because I don't understand (FOR YOU!!!) Literally. I decided to call her. She is extremely rude to me. I needed to explain myself like, I'm not doing in propose I just want cleary to understand what we need to pay. And there was the point. We got a present for kids for workshops. IT'S OBLIGATORY for parents to be on the lunch, but we need to pay 49€ extra each. That means that we have to pay 49€*3 to go to try our kids food and if we don't go, they can't go neither. On the link says price for adults price for kids. We understood of workshops, not of kids workshop + adults lunch. We are really disappointed. Kids will be really sad. And ethnically I think is a huge trick to steal to parents. If it's a present, should it be with lunch included? How can they sell half present and think that we have the money to cover the other part? Everything would be a misunderstanding, and I could understand, but not to be polite, to be rude it's absolutely...
Read moreThe little town Radovljica is near to the tourist village Bled and has a beautiful fairy tale old town part. On the main street - in a likewise charming and beautifully renovated house - you'll find Hisa Linhardt. It is really a gorgeous restaurant (one Michelin star) with an "attached" hotel. Don't just go here for a bed and breakfast; you must try their excellent cooking. Which I have reviewed separately here on TA (https://www.tripadvisor.se/Restaurant_Review-g274879-d23569931-Reviews-Hisa_Linhart_Restavracija_Hotel-Radovljica_Upper_Carniola_Region.html)||The old and renovated - simple yet elegant - house (and yes, hisa means house) have some hotel room individually decorated and of different sizes.|Comfortable beds (more narrow in some rooms: check with the staff if this is a concern) all standard amenities and AC present.||Since Hisa Linhardt is a top class restaurant you can expect an excellent breakfast.|Not really cheap, but affordable and well worth the money - especially in conjunction with a dinner experience.||Skip the rather tourist trap:ish Bled hotels and restaurants and go the 6 km to Radovljica and Hisa Linhardt instead. You will not be disappointed.||Very much...
