Delicious food, fantastic service and lovely view with outside seatings. The waiter gave us really good recommendations as we asked to try the most traditional Slovenian dishes. The meat platter for 1 was enough for the two of us - as the waiter said that he's not seen a girl finished a portion throughout his job tenure at the restaurant, we gladly accepted his advice.
After we devoured the meat platter, we still had cravings for some beef goulash but of course ordering a portion was impossible for us at this point. When we made our yearnings to the waiter, he very kindly offered to give us some tasting sample to try. Turned out to be a starter portion goulash. What a pleasant surprise, how generous! It was absolutely delectable as well!
The dining experience kept on building as we asked for the bill. We were given two FREE small glasses of mouth-watering Slovenian red dessert wine at the end. All of which cost less than €20! An unbelievably incredible meal to end our short holiday in Slovenia! Highly recommended!!
After your meal, you can also check out their gingerbread museum in the basement. It was very interesting to see the whole production process here. They have been making these for more...
Read moreA legendary traditional Slovenian restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the food is very good. You feel like at home. The only issue I have are the prices. Not suitable for eating on a budget. Soups are 5 to 8 €, main dishes 15 to 25€, salads 7 to 12€. Side dishes are perhaps most affordable with prices around 3 to 4€. I would really recommend their mulled wine though. It's the best I've ever had and the cheapest thing on the menu - costs 1,5€ for 2dcl. If you have money to spend you will most certainly love this place except for maybe the toilet which I would give 3 stars at most. It's ok for a regular restaurant but not ok for one with prices such as Lectar. The urinal is runny, the equipment is not rustic but simply old. Other than that I love this place. They also have a museum of lectovo hearts (the traditional hand made heart made of dough, coloured and decorated.) They also have workshops in it to teach you how...
Read moreWe were seated after a short wait, and at first, everything seemed fine. However, we ended up waiting over 20 minutes without anyone approaching us to offer menus or even drinks. What made it worse was that a local couple who arrived after us were promptly served and had already placed their order while we were still being ignored.
This unequal treatment was extremely frustrating and made us feel unwelcome. After waiting patiently and seeing this, we decided to leave. Even then, no staff member acknowledged us or asked why we were leaving – a very strange and disappointing attitude.
To add to the negative experience, the condition of the tableware (as seen in the attached pictures) left much to be desired. Overall, we felt overlooked and disrespected. Definitely not a place we...
