Lina Rooms Hostel — Hotel in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

I stayed here for 8 days in May and made a good choice as it is run by Mr Lin, his charming wife Lina and mum Jiali. I felt especially welcome as a solo traveller but I saw the same warm welcome extended to all the guests who arrived here, mainly for a shorter stay than mine. I had come for a rest and relax as well as exploring this small country which has so much to offer. Although my room was quite small, it was fine for me as there is a beautiful garden area with table and chairs adorned with plants and pots well maintained by Jiali, perfect for reading and relaxing. It is only a short stroll to the centre of Ljubljana and is located in a quiet residential area. There is also a large parking area and is very near the bus station. I did not know check in was between 2 pm and 10 pm. The host is kind. He promptly took action when one of the guests clogged the toilet and made a mess. I didn't know I would get a basement room. The common space doesn't have natural light (picture) and smells of Eastern Asian spices. There were two small, but clean bathrooms. The room I slept in housed 8 beds. It has little dim natural lighting, and although there is ventilation, it is not sufficient. I opened the small windows as often as I could, because of the smell. The bed, bedding and the locker were good. If the guests snore, as they did when I was there, one cannot sleep.

I really enjoyed 2 nights in this hostel. Rooms, kitchen, bathrooms were very clean. They give the towel also which saves some space from your backpack. Also the owners were so kind and helpful. After I check out they kept my in reception for free and I waiting in their entrance for an hour. They have a microwave and kettle to use for prepared food really quick. Also in the bathroom they have the shower gel that can help you also and it smells good compare to the classic hotels sticky shower gel.
