Franmarel — Hotel in George

Franmarel is a wonderfully nice and cozy guesthouse with warm and welcoming hosts, Marinda and Francois. It located 2min walk away from Plettenberg's Main Street and 5min walk away to the Whale Tail Lookout Point which grants an amazing view over the ocean and Plett's beaches. ||The guesthouse conisists of 3 rooms on the first floor with a common lounge room and huge balcony with an amazing (partly blocked now) oceanview where breakfast is also served. We spent 4 nights in the Green Room which was exceptionally clean, lovely decorated and had a bright bathroom with a shower and baththub; we even had our own small balcony with comfortable chairs.||As mentioned above breakfast was served on the balcony starting with daily changing variations of fruit (as fruit salad, with pancakes or waffles etc.) and a platter of English or Continental breakfast (or even both). Additionally homemade bread and musli, yoghurt, cheese and juice was served as buffet. It was absolutely delicious and top-notch.||The hosts Marinda and Francois are remarkably kind, courteous and are such a welcoming couple. They gave us helpful tips about Plett and the surrounding area and it was always a pleasure chatting with them. Also, every evening Francois made sure that our car was safe behind closed metal gates.||In our opinion Franmarel is one of the best guesthouses you can stay along the Garden Route. We recommend it to everyone who wants to feel home...

We had a lovely 2-night stay at Franmarel. Francois and Marinda were exceptional hosts -- friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They made us feel very welcome and were happy to share their tips on things to do in the area, and make dinner reservations for us. The house is gorgeous, with a cozy lounge area and awesome veranda with spectacular views. Our room (the green room) was clean, spacious and comfortable.||||Breakfast was included, and it was amazing. A variety of foods to choose from, and everything was delicious. Hats off to the chef!||||What really took it over the top were the little touches--a bottle of sherry in the room for a night cap; filtered water to refill our water bottles; a snack care package at check out.||||Franmarel is just a short walk from town (and several fantastic restaurants), so the location gets 5-stars as well. We can't recommend Franmorel enough. We've just stayed 3 nights at this lovely guest house in the yellow room and it was a pleasure to meet Francois & Marinda along with their beautiful little dog Jessie. The breakfasts (different every morning and plenty of it) were absolutely first class and are served on the fabulous covered balcony with views over the bay. Every little thing you need is right there and the bed & pillows were very comfy. Noting was too much trouble for Francois & Marinda and they were happy to share recommendations for things to do and restaurants to try in Plett. Thank you both for our wonderful stay, we do hope to return next...
