Overall, Dysart Boutique Hotel is very good as long as you don't expect it to be a luxury hotel with a lot of amenities.
First, the location is great: centrally located in the Green Point neighborhood which has plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Additionally, it is a short drive/uber to Sea Point, Camps Bay, V&A Waterfront, and CBD. There is a supermarket and liquor store within a 5 min walk, along with a great breakfast spot, Jason's Bakery.
Additionally, the staff is wonderful and go out of your way to make sure everything is wonderful. Shelly is great at the front desk, and wants you to enjoy your stay. She even ironed clothes for us because the rooms do not have irons.
The hotel provides breakfast included in the stay, but we did not take advantage so I cannot comment on it. Also, there are 2 pools. One overlooking the neighborhood as an "infinity type" and a small plunge pool. There is ample lounge seating around the pools.
We stayed in the Deluxe Double Room "XXL" and it was huge along with a private patio. The toilet was separate from the rest of the bathroom, there was a sitting area, and a king size bed. The bathroom was huge with a walk in shower, tub, and two sinks. The bed was comfy and the pillows were solid.
The negatives of the place are that it still uses keys and there are multiple keys for the front door, room door, patio door, etc. Additionally, you have to use a key to get out, not just in. In the day and age where things are automated or on a key card, this was frustrating. Also, the place doesn't have a generator and is at the mercy of Cape Town's rolling blackouts (The city is divided into a big grid and depending on the time of year there are multiple blackouts for 2 hours at a time). If the weather is very hot, you will be without air conditioning. If you need to use a hair dryer or straightener in the morning and the power is out then, you will be without that. Etc. This was not disclosed up front and I think if you are a 5 star hotel guests should be aware that there is potential for multiple hours every day that the power will be out. Suggestion to make sure you check the power situation before booking or know that you will be okay without power at times.
Overall, the stay was pleasant and we had no issues. Just that there are some things to be aware of that I wanted to share to...

Read moreThis hotel truly surprised me! I stayed there twice, and on both occasions, I was very well taken care of by the entire staff. Everyone is very helpful and polite, and I want to give a special thanks to all of them! They made my stay very enjoyable.||The first room (with a bathtub) was spectacular and huge, with a balcony next to it. High-quality bathroom products. Really spacious and beautifully decorated. The second room, a few days later, was a bit smaller but just as high in quality.||When you arrive at the hotel, you might be surprised because the front looks like an ordinary house, with no big signs. But inside, it's impeccable and has two swimming pools. There are parking spaces available, and they’ll help you park if needed.||It’s about 1.5 to 2 km from the Waterfront and just a few steps from a main street with a supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants. I would definitely stay...
