Review of Greenpoint Park, Cape Town We had a wonderful experience visiting Greenpoint Park during a youth camp activity. The place is absolutely beautiful and well-maintained, offering a serene environment for various activities. The park not only boasts lush greenery but also features a well-equipped play area for children, making it family-friendly. There are ample picnic spots with seating areas, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. Security is present at the entrance, which adds a sense of safety, and there’s plenty of parking available just outside the park. Its proximity to the Sea Point Promenade is another bonus, allowing visitors to enjoy stunning ocean views and easy access to additional attractions nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, and the activities we participated in made the experience even more memorable. Greenpoint Park is a gem in Cape Town, ideal for outings, family gatherings, or just a peaceful retreat. Highly recommended.

One of the most successful urban parks in post democracy South Africa, created as a legacy project and part of the Green Point Stadium built to host the 2010 Soccer World Cup...An inner city park, attracting locals of all races and generations from all parts of Cape Town and open to all visitors to the Mother City. The Park offers various experiences for recreation, performances and relaxation with amazing landscaped gardens and various water bodies, safe for walks, jogging, play areas and offering information about the botanic world of the Cape and the history of Cape Town dating back to the indigenous inhabitants, the Khoi and San peoples. Close proximity to a Virgin Active Gym club and the Mouille Point beach promenade extends the experience... pity I did not take many pics on this day, but will visit again and am proud to have been part of its creation!

Visited the park with my kiddies | To be honest i was scared visiting the park alone with my kids but i was soon surrounded with caring people who loves to keep the park clean and to make sure everyone is safe in the park and then i had a lovely time. Parking around the park can be tough, so go nice and early to assure you get some good parking. There are public bathrooms in the park that are neat and also a little restaurant that sells ice creams and rents out bicycles for you to drive around. There is a big play area for the young kids and all over the fields and benches are groups of people having parties.. weddings, baby showers, and picnics under the trees 🌳 . I would definitely visit them again soon, so i recommend you do the same with your picnic blanket and basket. Just remember to clean up after yourself.

A lovely park, table spaces for picnics, huge areas of greenery to play games, walking/ running areas and a cute little cafe. The cafe serves good, wholesome food. The coffee isn’t great, but sadly no coffee in this country is great, except Mockha (which I hear is starting a subscription service). The other issue is cafes tend to burn coffee when they serve it here (for goodness sake, Barista, just lower the gauge!) so you can’t tell if it’s good or not as it’s burnt! Another quirk of South Africa, if you take a football, and then sit with it for a rest, everyone who passes by will either pick it up, kick it or ask to play with it. This seems to be a thing wherever we go, we find it endearing but it might feel a bit presumptuous if you’re not used to that!

Simply the best place in Cape Town for a tranquil picnic with family and friends. The GP Park is part of a green space built as part of a development that was coupled with the construction of Cape Town Stadium for the Football World Cup 2010. Provision has been made for parking around the park but at times it can get busy. For anybody visiting CT a visit here is a must see. There are play areas for different age groups. Various dams with plenty of birdlife. The one side of the park is taken up by a golf course. Generally, a very popular picnic spot but also great for avid nature lovers since most of the plants are indigenous.

There's so much offered at this park! Loads of seating, an open field to have a picnic, kick a ball around or walk your dog/baby/yourself. There's a restaurant, a child's play area (jungle gym area), a separate dogs park (with a drinking fountain for dogs, poop bags, bins and friendly doggos), an outdoor-gym, loads of areas to walk and explore, including a little maze hedge area, art sculptures, fountains and ponds with fish, a separate no-dog area to walk around and look at plants, and amazing views of the stadium, golf course and mountain. Beautiful park, kept very clean with separate bins for recycling. Absolute must!
