I've been craving good eggs benedict for quite a while, and this morning we decided to head out and try out an eatery we haven't been to before. Based on a chrushmag-online write-up we decided to try out Cushy in Green Point. The iced coffee was really good, but the Eggs Florentine (we're vegetarian) was such a disappointment! We waited for our meal for more than 30 minutes (the deli wasn't busy at all) and at one point in time got up to check on our waiter to see if our order will be coming at all. When the food did arrive, the sourdough bread was soggy (assuming the wilted baby spinach was lying on the bread for just too long before our meal was served), and the hollandaise sauce was very watery and runny, and not creamy at all. The pic of the eggs benedict on the cushtycom-online review does not even closely resemble the food we received, and yes, I know that we ordered eggs florentine, but the only real difference is that the one is served with bacon, and the other...

What a find. Loved it in Sept and came back to Cape in December picking hotel next door. We just could not skip this place for nine breakfasts in a row. Outstanding coffee but the real genius is the ladies doing the cooking. Sauces on the eggs are creative. The Pesto Mushroom and grilled tomatoes on homemade sourdough bread was just incredible. Add to that, an excellent almond croissant. I went back on Day Two – I had Cushty Classic – perfect eggs with fresh chives; grilled tomato and grilled mushroom cooked with herb; nice bacon. Day 3 had Chicken Pesto sandwich with side salad which was very good. (bread sliced a bit top thick). Day 4 Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Heavenly. It was busy and popular. Everything is cooked to order so you should plan on waiting for...

We were told about this place by my friends daughter & decided to give it a go. What a pleasant surprise, a real little neighbourhood gem tucked away in such a nice area of Green Point.

The service was on point, friendly waiters, ready with a smile & nothing was to much for them, thank you.

The next surprise was the hearty home cooking, made me feel like I was in my granny's kitchen, sublime food and made with love and care. The food was so tasty & just the right amount of love added.

If you're looking for a little gem of a Deli with amazing food, look no further, this is the place for you.

The owner Roy even joined us at our table for a chat, that made it even more special, thanks Roy.

To the owner & staff, thank you for a great experience.

Kind...

My family and I lived in the Green Point area of Cape Town for two months, enjoying the areas fine food, beautiful nature, and even more beautiful people. Cushty’s was a 5-minute walk from where we stayed, and it quickly became one of our favorites, especially for breakfast. The food was delicious, the coffee was excellent, and the service was even better. While there aren’t many seats here (it’s an adorable little shop!), it’s a place worth stopping in for a quick pitstop, a longer stay, or even some takeaway. You’ll be glad you did.

I've had lunch here a few times and love their food. It's fresh. Homemade. Very tasty. And healthy. Today though I stopped in for a coffee and decided to have a brownie too. I'm always too full to have dessert. This is surely the best brownie I have ever tasted. It was moist on the inside and slightly gooey, with a crusty outside. And the actual taste was absolutely delicious. The portion is ample so I planned to only eat half today and save the rest but I couldn't stop and scoffed it all. I'll be back!
