On arrival welcoming was very good, a special evening was arranged with service manager Bright Luthuli, however nothing was done to make the evening special where do I begin? 1: First night (Thursday 25th)n which was supposed to be special as it was my wife's 55th birthday, we arranged with Bright that we would like to have a romantic corner, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, we ordered from the menu. My wife ordered a Chicken burger, which was over fried and dry, I ordered Ravioli with stuffed mushroom with creamy white sauce, but was told unfortunately only creamy spinach and feta was available, halfway through my meal, i sent it back as the center of the meal was cold as if the meal was precooked and then just reheated . 2: While getting ready to go to bed, we wanted to take an shower, the soap bowl was totally damaged and pulled halfway out of the wall, the hand rail to assist in getting up in the bath does not exist, the bath rim around the wall is covered in mildew. 3: The next evening after having spent the day in Cape Town, we went to the hotel to freshen up, upon entering our room, we notice the towels we used the morning are still in the same position we left them the morning, they had not been replace. 4: The coffee that we had the morning, also had not been replenished 5: I immediately went to the duty manager, Mr Nolan. I explained my dissatisfaction and he humbly apologized and assured me that He personally would rectify the situation, I thanked him and my wife and l went to the bar to enjoy a cocktail before going out to dinner as we were about to leave the hotel, Nolan stopped us said he personally replaced the used towels with 7 new and dry towels, I laughed at him and asked now what must we do with 7 towels. 6: On returning from our night out (21h45) my wife and I decided we would like to have a drink in the hotel bar before we retire for the evening the bar was busy , I asked the barman if we could have 2 Dompedro's with whiskey, after what seemed to be forever he answered sorry sir but we don't have icecream. 7: Having settled for black coffee, my wife and I retired to our room, I immediately noticed that the towels had been replaced, but the coffee we used the morning was replaced with 4 sachets of "decafinated" coffee and 20 sachets sugar and NO milk. this time i was about to explode, again i went to the night manger "Nolan" and viewed my dissatisfaction. 8: lastly, i wanted to open the balcony door to allow fresh air in the room, the balcony door was rusted so bad, it could not open photo's are available of all issued mentioned above now you asked to review my stay for a night that was supposed to be special for my wife's 55th birthday turned out to be a disaster. I will NEVER recommend Radisson Blu Le Vendome, i think it should be down rated to a 2 star

Absolutely Repulsive!! I had booked my RETIRED parents in at this hotel. After 2 days, I had to get them out of this hell hole! They checked out prematurely today (23rd Feb 2019, instead of the 25th Feb 2019. 4 nights were booked and fully paid for, but they could only endure 2 ) The hotel is hazardous and no place for anybody, especially the elderly and children. To name a few of the issues faced: - The bathroom is revolting with thick mildew on the tiles, especially the wash basin. Imagine brushing your teeth with that view! - The mirrored cupboard was broken and came off the rails. Despite Dad asking a number of times for it to be seen to as it could fall and the mirror break causing serious harm, 2 days into the stay and it was still not resolved - Both lampshades broken - No towels - No toilet paper - Housekeeping service was disgusting – they would answer the call then hang up - Even by 15h00 in the afternoon, the room was not cleaned for the day. The cleaner mentioned that she was the only cleaner for 5 floors! - Breakfast was completely underwhelming, constantly running out of clean cups and plates. Too long to wait until somebody cleans up a table after a guest finishes their breakfast The straw that broke the camel’s back - No remote for the air conditioner. My Mom in her late 60’s was asked to stand on a chair and manually change the control if they wanted the temperature adjusted!!!! After an amazing couple of days in this beautiful city with the weather being perfect – it was an absolute disastrous choice to have chosen this hotel in Sea Point to end the holiday. Please do not make the same mistake as I did!!

Radisson Blu Le Vendome Hotel, Cape Town I did stay at the Radisson in March 2018. I am member of their rewards program and have a gold status, so things may or may not have been influenced. The hotel ist situated in a newer „upper“ living area 2 minutes away from a stunning waterfront with ability to run, swim... VA waterfront (the outgoing and shopping district) and some parks are a nice 30 minutes walk away. You could walk to the old town, as well but would suggest an uber ride. The room I got was up to the usual Radisson Busines standard, absolutely clean and well maintained with the usual very good Radission bath amenities . Bed was very good - I prefer firm matrices and pillows not making any noises. There was no content in the minibar, the new trend I personally dislike. However 24/7 roomservice. The room have a/c. The pool is in a courtyard alike deck with a small bar (in addition to larger more formal at the ground floor) and is connected to the restaurant. Nice setting. Pool had now water when I visited, to due known water crisis. The restaurant was up to the standard, the breakfast over par. All staff was friendly and welcoming. A earlier arrival was not an issue, still a prompt checkin. WiFi was available for free at excellent speed. Much appriciated are a USB port (high power) and different outlets. This is cool place to stay for exploring Cape town.

I booked this hotel for my wedding anniversary and although we live in Cape Town, my wife and I have recently returned from living and abroad. We were very excited for what was going to be an amazing day and to be tourists in our own city.

It started with a treatment at the Blu spa which i booked via a deal through hyperli. The treatment itself was good however we were shocked when we came out of the treatment room to see all the spa staff standing around a fish and chip parcel which was spread out on the reception table. Not a great image for the Radisson hotel group. Clearly there was a lack of management around.. Next we went to check in and the polite front desk agent Nuhaa mentioned that we were a bit early for check in and allowed us store our luggage while we spent some time at the V&A. We returned to the hotel at around 4:30pm and we were helped by Prim who speedily checked us in and sorted our car out.

Room #805 was a disaster (as you can see from the pics) it is desperately in need of a revamp and lacked any sort of the sophistication that one would expect from the Radisson Hotel group. The bed was made up very shoddilly and extremely poorly presented, it did not even looked like the roomhad been cleaned and there was flies in the bathroom. There was no hot water to shower with and minimal amenities were available in the room as well.

Calling the manager on duty was a waste of time. No apology, no effort to make a plan.. Nothing! Really poor I give them zero for that service.

The room cost me R 1600 for the night. The Southern Sun down the road is R1300 which is a newer hotel with much better facilities and quality. In hindsight I should have booked there.

Thank you Radisson le Vendome for spoiling my wedding anniversary on the plus side atleast they refunded my money.

Kind...

Absolutely ridiculous establishment. We had a booking for 5 rooms which we had booked over 6months in advance and also confirmed closer to the date. None of the 5 rooms were available and were all "double booked", they managed to secure us one room last minute and forced the rest of us across the road to the hyde hotel. Absolutely ridiculous to have travelled so far for a holiday to be refused rooms.

The "compensation" offered for this was a complimentary meal at the Radisson on the last night of our stay. When we arrived there was one member of staff working who had no knowledge of the reservation we had made for 10 people. This was fine though because the restaurant was EMPTY obviously a testament to the service here. About half the menu was not available. We chose our main courses which I will give credit were delicious. When it came to dessert we ordered from the 2 choices that were left, after about 15 minutes the waitress returned to inform us these were also not available and there was one dessert left to choose from. We genuinely thought ot was a joke after how many times she had gone to check and returned to assure us they were available. The waitress literally could not care less and clearly did not want to be there and was actually laughing as she came to tell us. The explanation for this is that there was a function the day before so they had run out of everything. Great management then.

In addition the members of our party who did manage to secure a room there said that it was near impossible to have things in the room replenished, so even the housekeeping seems sub par.

By contrast, the hyde hotel where we were sent were amazing, very attentive and friendly and would do anything for you. Stay...
