I used to be a regular at The Deli, going 1-3 times a week for years, but my most recent visit was the last straw. I ordered my regular which is a quinoa salad with 3 poached eggs and asked for olive oil as a dressing—something I’ve done countless times before—only to be charged extra for it. Charging for olive oil? Seriously? It’s insulting and petty.
What makes it even worse is that I found out the so-called “olive oil” they serve is actually a cheap canola blend, not even real olive oil. So not only are they charging extra, but they’re being completely dishonest about the product itself.
The staff has always been inattentive and sometimes ignores you completely, but I put up with it because the food was decent. However, this recent experience made me realize they don’t value their customers, especially loyal ones like I used to be.

Read moreTo eat, we ordered French toast and salad (not our first option). To drink, we ordered a Coke, iced coffee and water (we never received the iced coffee). My wife originally ordered the Mushroom and egg on toast, but she requested only egg whites, we were informed that the chef could not cater for our request as they had already pre-scrambled all the eggs for the day, and it would be wasteful for them to use any other eggs to make scrambled egg whites for her. We asked instead for a fired egg white if that was easier, but this could not be done either, no reason was given. My wife decided to have a salad instead to simplify things, it was good but definitely not what you want for breakfast. The French toast was okay, it definitely needed salt. The waiter never came back around once we got our food, to check if we needed...
