Milky Lane Sea Point — Local services in Sea Point

Myself and my family went to milky lane in sea point and the shop was very dirty ,when my wife told they lady at the till she did not acknowledge the uncleanliness of the shop. My granddaughter ordered a waffle and a soda and when we received it the waffle (which we have had many times before from milky lane) looked absolutely nothing like it should have and when she addressed it with the lady she insisted that the waffle was like that. When we decided to taste the waffle it proved to be bland and the chocolate mousse was more like sludge and was not edible at all. When we received our soda it was not what we ordered either. We then decided to give the food and the soda to a lady on the side of the road ,milky lane refused to let the lady sit in the restaurant and told her to leave , I do not understand how the restaurant is worried about a lady on the side of the road coming in and sitting there (when we bought her the food) when their shop was so dirty. We then got her a take away and apologized to her. The customer service and quality of the food was really not good at all. The lady we dealt with had a very bad attitude. Firstly, the place is very unhygienic. I came in with my daughter and there were two ladies behind the counter. One of them standing infront of the ice cream machine and the other just starring at us. I asked for the price of a chocolate dip cone. The once at the counter started explaining to me the process of making a chocolate dip ice cream. She never understood the question. And then she told my daughter her hair looks like a wig. HUH!!!! I asked how long the cones will take as I would like x4 and she replied that I would have to wait 10 mins before she can proceed with making the 4 cones. They are very rude and spoke to me very poorly. One of the ladies has an attitude when talking to me and got very aggressive with me when I returned with my husband who was concerned as to why the wait is so loooong seeing as we are the only customers at that moment. We also checked the one lady for passing comments of my daughters hair and told her that it’s not part of the service Milky Lane provides and she should stick to doing her job. What a shocking experience at Milky Lane Seapoint! The dismal scene outside the shop should have been enough of a deterrent with homeless people sitting against the windows/ walls outside the store. Inside the store was a shock to the system - dirty, noisy with loud music blaring and an interior in desperate need of some TLC. The server behind the counter was totally disinterested, unfriendly and looked like she could have been anywhere else but behind the counter! I associate Milky Lane with ice cream and happiness. The ice cream itself was watery and not the same as ice cream we have eaten at other outlets.What should have been a pleasant Saturday afternoon experience with our 3 year old daughter was just horrid.
