I recently had the pleasure of staying at City Lodge Hotel Bloemfontein, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me instantly feel at home.
The location of the hotel couldn't be more ideal. Situated in the heart of Bloemfontein, it allowed me to easily explore the vibrant city and its many attractions. Whether I was in town for business or leisure, I found the hotel's central location to be incredibly convenient.
As for the hotel itself, I was impressed by its modern and stylish design. My room was beautifully appointed, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. The attention to detail and cleanliness were exceptional, and I appreciated the little touches that made me feel pampered.
What truly set City Lodge Hotel Bloemfontein apart, though, was the impeccable service I received. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my every need was met. From their friendly greetings to their willingness to assist with any request, their genuine hospitality made a lasting impression on me.
The hotel also offered a range of amenities that added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. The complimentary Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, allowing me to stay connected, and the on-site restaurant served delicious meals that satisfied my taste buds. The breakfast selection was particularly impressive, offering a variety of options to suit every palate.
In conclusion, City Lodge Hotel Bloemfontein exceeded my expectations in every way. It provided me with a comfortable and convenient home away from home, accompanied by exceptional service and a delightful ambiance. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bloemfontein. It truly made my stay memorable, and I can't wait to return...
Read moreShould have been a 4 star, maybe even plus rating, but sadly they messed it up so I have given 2.5 stars.
Great hotel and well situated. Booking and reception staff were absolutely great.
Had dinner in the restaurant, as after driving all day I did not feel like taking the car and looking for a spot. Menu was limited (see pics) however while service was spotty the meal was good - I had the "roast chicken" which was actually curry chicken but tasty.
Rooms were on the road side,so quite noisy - maybe request inside rooms if road noise bothers you.
Then at 04h00 a sprinkler system came on and was spraying water directly against our window. This kept us awake and even an hour after reporting at 6h30 it was still going. Water running down the road, what a waste, and you could see this was not the first time. I battle to believe nobody had noticed this before. So was a terrible night sleep.
We then decided on breakfast at the hotel as a spoil @ R 150 per head. What a waste. Wimpy would have been much better. Staff were surly and slow. Cutlery on newly laid table was dirty. Took 30 minutes to get a cuppacino and we were not even offered coffee. Wait staff were not busy, restaurant was less than half, but they made it seem like they were doing us a favour.
So overall a disappointment and...
Read moreAfter I checked in, I called reception to ask whether they have bar fridges in the room. Lebogang said they dont have. I travel quite a bit and this time I chose the City Lodge because it seems better than the Town Lodge and Road Lodge. I am growing increasingly unhappy to store my insulin in the hotel fridge because that is a forced disclosure of my private health condition. He said there is no fridge and I asked him to get the manager to call me. The manager called back and we had a conversation. He then supposedly put the handset down but the call did not cut. When we ended the call, my room phone rang again, and when I answered I could hear the manager discussing what I had told him with a female reception Tshegofetso. They were not aware that the switchboard dialled back to my room and that I was listening to their conversation. He made this mocking tone in which he said he explained to me that this is not the protea hotel. I listened to the conversation between the manager and the receptionist and could catch the intermittent English bits and a never ending laugh on the part of the receptionist. I recorded the conversation on...
