The hotel itself is in a quieter area, just a 15 min walk from the beach and shops. Out front they have a Dino shop/restaurant/bar/laundrette (which came in handy with our Nutella mad kiddies!) and behind the hotel is a massive supermarket. ||The hotel itself is very tidy, well maintained and welcoming. On arrival we were checked in and explained what was on offer (entertainment/food times/pool towels etc) the staff at reception were extremely welcoming and helpful not only at check in but throughout our stay. They ordered us several taxi’s, helped us with any questions we had and also checked in with me after I had asked about a local doctor as my daughter had an earache one evening. (Luckily wasn’t needed but still very nice that they had not only remembered who we were but also they cared about us as guests) ||We stayed in room 220, great view of the entertainment from outside the front of our room but our balcony overlooked the supermarket. ( We were unfazed by this as not only did we only use the room for showering/sleeping but it had more privacy) The room itself was clean, and very big. One of the biggest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Thank you to the wonderful housekeeping team for our immaculately clean room everyday! ||The pool areas were large with plenty of room for everyone and lots of sunbeds available, which weren’t on top of each other. Our costumes did not change colour with the chlorine. Often times you would see the lifeguards taking water samples and checking the levels. There was a lifeguard monitoring both pool areas at all times, and they were very on the ball. ||The Entertainment was enjoyable with something for everyone. It catered to everyone but with a magical touch for the children. The whole team were fantastic and went above and beyond! The Disney show was a great hit for us, pool games and kids club! ||The food, honestly I don’t want to run it down because at times it was really good! The Mexican theme night for me was a favourite! Think cheese fountain, salsa, fresh guacamole! Yum take me back please !! Several themed nights with fresh candy floss/ sweet galore and chocolate fountains. Pancake and waffle eat your heart out! Seafood/prawns/paella yum ! |BUT….. The snack bar ☹️ That really was a sad state of affairs. The food coming from there was pretty terrible and the hot dogs/Burgers/chips sitting in their hot plate with flies galore and no cover? Yuck! I watched the girl dealing with the food cooking fresh and just tipping it ontop of food that had been sat there for quite sometime, with no attempt to rotate it. (It remained that way everyday for the week we were there) so there you have it, my biggest moan is the snack bar, it is letting down the food side of things for me and I feel it wouldn’t take much to improve it. ||The bar was good-drinks were as expected and cocktails were yum! Liked the help yourself to non alcoholic drinks! TIP- anyone going with young children take your squash with you as it’s not available at the hotel ( I think that’s normal-it took me a while to find some Robinsons here) ||I just wanted to also say that as a parent of very young children, as a family run hotel it would be amazing if you would consider adding an additional child lock on internal doors within the rooms, such as a bolt or chain up high so little people are secure during the night- I was worried the whole holiday about my children’s ability to just open the door and walk straight out be it daytime or night time. ||Lastly, thank you for a fantastic holiday! Your team really are a credit and you have such a beautiful hotel! We hope to return sometime in...
Read moreStayed for 10 days at the start of June. Family of 4, 5 year old & 3 month old baby. |Pro’s: Reception staff were lovely. Very helpful & informative. Rooms were always cleaned to a good standard. On one day my daughter dropped a glass & it had smashed so I went to reception to ask for a dustpan to clean it myself. They sent a lovely cleaner down to do it for us. Pool was a perfect temperature & the entertainment during the day was great with good music playing also. Rooms were spacious & outside area’s were well maintained. Elena from the kids club is amazing she was so welcoming and always had a friendly smile. We asked in advance for our rooms to be next door to eachother (travelling with a friend & her family) and they were able to do this. Drinks were alright, not amazing but pretty standard. Pool bar snacks were burgers, hotdogs, chips, toasties & then they swapped between chicken nuggets, chicken wings & potato croquettes every other day. Would be nice if chicken nuggets or wings could be on every day as they were nice & handy for children and in 10 days we only seen them twice. The burgers were great though! The shower rooms for the day you check out are very helpful, we were able to book in advance a certain time before our transfer was arriving to get a shower and freshen up before travelling. The photographers around the pool were a good touch too & took some lovely pictures. Plenty of sunbeds so even if we went out for the morning & came back early afternoon we were still able to find some.||Con’s: if you’re a picky eater you’re going to find it hard to find something nice to eat. My partner & daughter barely liked anything at each meal time so it was hard to enjoy it. I always found something to eat but the one night we went out for food somewhere else it was to a much higher standard. But it’s what I expect at an all inclusive hotel to be honest. Daughter are plain pasta or spaghetti most days. Night time entertainment was alright, not the best. The kids splash pool was great but it was far away from the main pool and there were only self serve soft drinks available beside it, no pool bar or snacks. No kitchen sink or utilities in the apartment which made travelling with a baby a bit more difficult. We used a collapsible bucket instead (or bathroom sink is an option too). We asked for a microwave to be in the room in order to sterilise bottles but it wasn’t there when we arrived. But it was fine we got by with Milton tablets & the bucket. While the staff in the kids club were great, the actual room wasn’t the best. It was dark, not the most up to date & my 5 year old was bored after 10 minutes. Could do with more things to do, toys etc & a lick of paint. They don’t allow larger inflatables in the pool for kids so my daughter (who can’t swim) was told by the lifeguard that she couldn’t get into the pool with her (small enough) flamingo rubber ring, yet the rest of the week there were 2 other kids with the same inflatable & nothing was said to them.||To summarise; it was a great holiday, rooms were clean, staff friendly, kids were entertained. Only important downside was the food. Don’t know if I’d stay here again in the future but it was still great nonetheless and if you have booked to stay here, don’t panic at the bad reviews, it’s a fairly good...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel on an all-inclusive basis, but unfortunately, our experience—particularly at the end—left us very disappointed.||Our airport transfer was scheduled for 7:20 a.m., and when we asked reception the night before about a packed breakfast (as every other hotel we’ve stayed at has provided for early departures), we were told none would be available. We have a 3-year-old and an 11-month-old baby, and when we explained our situation, reception assured us the restaurant would open at 7 a.m. so we could quickly grab a few things to take with us.||However, when my partner went down with the children to collect a couple of croissants or some bread, just something simple to feed the kids before a long journey, he was abruptly told no food could be taken out of the restaurant. Despite explaining we had very young children to feed, the staff showed no empathy and repeated that nothing could be taken with us. This hotel markets itself as “family fun,” yet they couldn’t allow us even a small amount of food for our toddlers—on a day we had paid for in full, including food. We were honestly stunned.||I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but this incident ruined our entire morning and left us with two hungry, upset children on a long transfer and flight. Along with being very hungry and uncomfortable ourselves. My partner was actually made to put down the food he had picked up. The worst part is we specifically checked ahead of time, and planned accordingly based on what we were told. There simply wasn’t time to sit and eat properly, so we were just trying to take a couple of bites for the children in napkins—nothing unreasonable.||This treatment felt like once your holiday ends, the hotel no longer cares about you or your family. We will be submitting a formal complaint.||A few other points:| • There’s no dustpan or brush in the room, yet they refused to clean our room one day because the floor had a few crisps on it. With two small kids, accidents happen—but if you won’t provide cleaning tools or services, what are guests supposed to do?| • The all-inclusive drinks were very watered down, and the pool bar staff often seemed miserable.| • No music or atmosphere around the children’s pool, which is located far away from any food or drink facilities, making it impractical for families to use. This pool is shown in the hotel’s advertising and isn’t very accessible either—you have to walk quite far for refreshments, which isn’t ideal for families with young children.| • Entertainment was mediocre and mostly indoors in a hot, stuffy hall—it felt more like a holiday camp than a resort.| • The hotel doesn’t offer a shuttle or any safe walking route to Fanabe beach. Instead, you have to pay for a taxi or risk crossing a very dangerous road and walking down a steep hill. The location is definitely not ideal.||Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning. Families deserve better—especially from a place that claims to...
