Just the loveliest, friendliest atmosphere. Our waiter greeted us graciously and warmly. As we sat trying to chose between the beautiful menu options, we decided on two lamb and one chicken dish. The single portion of pilaw rice was enough to feed three and a half of us and the local beers we ordered washed everything down beautifully. Our charming and so helpful waiter shared in my (abrasive) sense of humour so graciously and offered us some soft drinks on the house and agreed to keep us topped up with chutney for the duration of the meal. The curries were so tender and seasoned, we kept sharing, mixing and matching until we had finished everything. We stopped at licking the plates clean, the portions were so delicious and enticing. Keema Nan breads too were lovely. It was a fun evening and we will return soon. Compliments to the chef and staff of Taj Mahal. May you have lots of continued success, great customers (well, much better than me anyway!) And many more great reviews. You do ALL the right things. Best wishes from Paul, Jan,...
Read moreWe tried this place on a whim after seeing it for the first time today. I am so glad we did! The food is amazing, but also very reasonably priced. The decor is wonderful and the staff are great! The waiter immediately switched to English after seeing us speak together privately in English and was really accommodating while we waited for our food to be made. We got a take-away but next time we go we will definitely eat in the restaurant. This restaurant has by far the widest range of Indian food in Barcelona, with over 60 dish choices for curry alone! I suggest everyone go out and try this new found gem of a restaurant before they become too popular to...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and ordered the butter chicken and lamb chops. The butter chicken was decent, but unfortunately, the lamb chops were a major disappointment. They had a strong and unpleasant odor, making them inedible. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he claimed the smell was due to the freshness of the meat, which didn't seem accurate. Fresh lamb meat shouldn't have such a foul odor. This left us feeling like we were misled. To top it off, the pistachio kulfi we ordered wasn't up to par either. Its taste was off, and it had a texture reminiscent of a block of ice. Overall, it was a disappointing...
