Excellent hotel. Beautifully clean and modern, friendly polite and professional staff on reception and in bar. We had requested a twin room and were happy that they could fulfil that request. Room was a good size and the twin beds were lovely and big. Bathroom was super clean and we had two showers and a bath. The room was facing opening onto an interior courtyard, it was a quiet peaceful hotel and we felt very safe there. The housekeeping were excellent and we requested a few preferences which they honoured each day without reminding. The hotel is opposite a great gastrobar and the reception recommended another restaurant just a few doors up for an evening meal. Easy walking distance to the main centre and thoroughly recommendable. Would definitely return again. Well done!

This hotel is greatly located. It’s near the arc of triumph and in a street that directly connects you with the gothic neighborhood and other tourist attractions. On that very same street you have many restaurants you can go to, just avoid the sushi place and Las Sorrentinas I got a very spacious room (201) which also had a small balcony facing the street. Breakfast is great and you can also have a simple lunch at the restaurant. The Catalonia hotels are very good! If I return to Barcelona, this will be my first choice.

The location is perfect, about 10 minutes walk to the Gothic Quarter. All the alleyways around the hotel are charming, with small green spaces as well. The neighborhood is quiet. The room is clean, well equipped, the bathroom is huge. The only inconvenience is the random placement and lack of power sockets. The gym is adequate. I would recomend this hotel based on its location.

Hotel Catalonia Born in Barcelona offers an exceptional stay with numerous highlights that make it a standout choice for travelers. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that guest comfort and satisfaction are top priorities at this establishment.

First and foremost, the rooms at Hotel Catalonia Born are spacious and meticulously clean. The decor is modern and tasteful, providing a serene and welcoming environment. The ample space allows for a comfortable stay, whether you are traveling for business or leisure. The beds are plush and comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest after a day of exploring the vibrant city.

The morning breakfast at the hotel is a lavish spread that caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences. From fresh fruits, pastries, and breads to a variety of hot dishes, cereals, and beverages, there is something for everyone. The quality and variety of the breakfast offerings are impressive, making it a delightful start to the day.

One of the hotel's standout features is the beautiful rooftop pool. The pool area provides a perfect oasis to relax and unwind, with stunning views over the city. It's a great spot to soak up the sun, take a refreshing dip, or simply enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The rooftop area is well-maintained and offers comfortable seating, making it a popular spot among guests.

Location-wise, Hotel Catalonia Born is ideally situated. It is conveniently located within a 30-minute drive from the airport, making it easily accessible for travelers. The hotel is nestled in a vibrant neighborhood, close to numerous attractions, shops, and dining options. However, it’s worth noting that parking around the area can be a bit challenging. If you are driving, it’s advisable to inquire about parking options in advance.

The best part of our stay at Hotel Catalonia Born was undoubtedly the staff and service. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, including allowing us to check in early. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor significantly enhanced our experience, making us feel truly welcomed and valued as guests.

In summary, Hotel Catalonia Born in Barcelona offers an outstanding stay with its spacious and clean rooms, lavish breakfast, beautiful rooftop pool, and prime location. While parking can be a bit tricky, the exceptional staff and service more than make up for it. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable stay...

Update: After being told by maintenance staff that the water flooding our bathroom was dirty shower water not leaving the tubes properly, we were disgusted. Also they were the only ones that acknowledged the mess, no staff from hospitality apologized or asked how we were. Our toiletries got destroyed, our bags covered in dirty shower water, and we had to walk in it for a morning while another room (that we had to beg to get cleaned) was being fixed. While we were seeing massive amounts of water come out of the ceiling, the worker offered to put us in a dirty hotel room instead of put a rush on a dirty hotel room to be cleaned. Needless to say, this hotel was not only unaccommodating but we felt like they were truly bothered by us asking for a clean room. No offer to be switched to a different 4-star hotel was made after they told us there were no other hotel rooms available when our bathroom was first flooded. In fact, they tried to ask us if we caused the flooding by leaving the shower on. Good thing I have a video of the massive leak coming out of the bathroom or else I feel like they would not have believed us. We were not offered free breakfast, a free meal, or any refund of any kind even though personal belongings were ruined from the leak and I had to use my own money to refill my toiletry supplies. As we were checking out, we were not asked any questions about our stay (something we say many times with other check outs at this hotel) and in fact they charged us for a meal we had in the flooded hotel. While the location of this hotel is great and the hotel rooms themselves fine, based on my experience with hospitality and overall service I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Original review: Posting this review as accountability for what steps are taken next at this hotel. Our hotel bathroom floor was flooded and we had no idea how or why. We wake up this morning to massive amounts of water coming down from the ceiling. We think it’s coming from the hotel above us showering. Now the power is out in our entire room because this leak was coming out of the light. This seems super dangerous! We called the front desk and they just said we’d have to wait because there are no rooms available. All of our things are soaked. I have never had a hotel experience like this. I will update this review once (and if) we are able to change rooms. What a mess this has been, did not expect this on...

Silent night, heavenly sleep

After traveling 24+ hours from flight cancelled and delays, all we wanted to do was sleep upon arriving at Catalonia Born.  Omg. This place is quite possibly the most quiet and peaceful inner-city hotel at which we’ve ever stayed!! We are very light sleepers and typically hear every creak and bang of other guests. We slept a solid 13 hours that night. Beds were super comfortable and the place was SILENT — just Heavenly!!

Woke up 100% refreshed and ready for our bike tour and Sagrada FAMÍLIA tours!

Front desk staff was lovely - super helpful and friendly.  Unfortunately it was too chilly to use the Rooftop pool and patio, but they are both a unique and cool aspect of Catalonia Born. Also, Love the free naturally-flavored water in the lobby - another really nice perk since all the restaurants charge for water.

If you’re coming from the USA, Be sure to bring your plug adapters. Somehow we missed this, but fortunately the store directly across from the hotel sells them for €2.50.

As other reviews mentioned, this hotel is in the perfect location, just a quick walk from the Gothic quarter but maintains an authentic feel of being in an old city.  Also less than a block from the Arch and in walking distance to most other popular tourist spots.  We walked to Sagrada FAMÍLIA and back and also walked to Park Guell - it’s a major hike UPHILL so don’t recommend walking there but perhaps just walking back!

Definitely would stay here on a future visit and will highly recommend to friends and family. We had a quick and busy stay so Hardly took any pictures just one of the peaceful atrium right outside the window to room 105.

Thank you Catalonia Born - we...
