The exterior and lobby of the hotel was nothing but beautiful, however I cannot say it was not a facade for the horrible experience of the room I had with my family. Firstly, the quality and cleanliness of the rooms were nothing but great, However regarding the services provided with the room, they were mostly negative. To begin with, even with the airconditioning at 13 degrees, the room was still hot; there seemed to be little to no ventilation of cold air aside from the vent of where the air came out from. Secondly, the wifi was slow and pretty much horrible every time I used it, I could barely search things up online without the connection breaking or for the website to buffer for a long time. To be fair, there is a premium wifi package, however the free wifi should not have been as bad as it was with slow connections that would cause webpages to buffer and load for ages. Another negative aspect of this hotel is the duvet. The duvet in my room was the most inconvinient thing I have ever experienced in terms of hotel comfort, it was bassicaly 2 thin sheets of duvet cover with a duvet in the middle, nothing to hold it together and stopping it from comming apart. The last negative aspect I feel needs to be mentioned is the inconvinience of the design of the washroom. The shower was narrow with wasted space in the rest of the washroom. The washroom was mainly empty space that could have been used to create a larger and more comforting facilty when using it. The main positive aspects of this hotel would be the friendlyness and fluent english of the staff. Another positive aspect is the chinese cusine located near the hotel, however that is up for personal opinion regarding culinary likes and dislikes. The hotel is also near the tourist bus stop and 'Arc de Triomf' .Overall I feel my experience was underwhelming and not worth the price that was paid. I would only recommending staying here if you have many tours that start and the station where all the tourist coaches...

We booked the hotel because it has a pool has a parking is pet friendly
The reality is: The pool is full of mold. Not just somewhere in a corner or in some places in between the tiles. It’s everywhere - on the whole surface of the tile joints and, which is worth, floating in the water, the black particles are everywhere. We didn’t dare to enter this « pool » Underground parking is extremely tight and steep The « pet friendliness » of this particular hotel turned out to be that excessive that we were not able to let our dog stay in the room alone. The heat in Barcelona was unbearable for our fluffy dog, she was just not able to stay outside. Many restaurants are not letting dogs in, all the museums obviously as well, so the plan was to leave our dog in the hotel before heading for lunch and visiting Sagrada Familia. And she was very happy to stay in the air conditioned room, she would just sleep these 3-4 hours. It’s a big breed dog, very clean, well behaved, never barking or howling. We travel around Europe with our dog a lot, she is used to staying in hotel rooms alone and it’s the first time that a hotel put us an ultimatum - either we take her with us or we have to hire a Dog Nanny! Ridiculous… There was no way we’d let our dog overheat outside or spend our 2 days in Barcelona inside a hotel room. The only solution was to move out of the hotel. We had to urgently find a new hotel, spend time packing, moving, checking in. Our plans for the 1 of 2 days in Barcelona were ruined. The worst hotel experience ever! Luckily the new hotel was a real pet friendly one, with a bigger and more convenient parking, a clean pool on a wide charming terrace. And besides, there was no payment for the dog! It had also a better location. And what is more important, it had such a wonderful, much friendlier staff than in NH...
Read moreOur stay at NH podium Barcelona, was nothing short of disappointing. We booked 2 rooms right next to one another because we were traveling with 3 small children. The key cards randomly would stop working, which was fine at first, but it started to become increasingly frustrating. At one point our 3 year old fell asleep, and I stepped out of the room for a moment to grab her blanket out of the suit case in our next door room and when I tried to get back in to the room our 3 year old was in, the key card wouldn’t work, and did I mention my phone was inside that same room. Thankfully my husband was coming back from his shopping trip with the other two as this was happening, and I was having a panic attack.
Secondly, we decided to use the roof top pool on our last night at the hotel. I took the children in the pool as my husband got changed, as the children were anxious to go swimming. The pool was the size of a bathtub and almost now room to even get in the pool.
After Having a quick swim with the kids, I roamed around for about 20 minutes looking for towels. I couldn’t find any so I walked up to the bartender which proceeded to tell me I needed a “card” in exchange for one towel. I explained I didn’t have one nor was I told I needed one. He instructed to go down to the lobby and get one. Normally, I wouldn’t mind, However, I was in a bathing suit, we were soaking wet, and had 3 children with me! It gets better, I used the hallway wall phone to call down to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager as to give the manager an overview of our experience, and allow them the opportunity to rectify the situation. The gentleman on the phone said we don’t have a manager working right now 🤦🏼♀️
Would not recommend this...
