The food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm, but at 7:28 pm, the receptionist called us with an impatient and rude tone, asking where we were. When we explained that we were stuck in traffic but on our way, she responded in a hostile manner and reminded us that we only had the table until 9 pm. We apologized for being late and assured her that we understood the time limit.
When we arrived at 7:45 pm, we apologized again, but instead of a polite response, the first thing the receptionist said was, “You only got an hour to eat tho,” in a rude and dismissive manner. While we fully acknowledged that we were late, her attitude was completely unnecessary. In fact, we had 1 hour and 15 minutes, not just an hour.
Since we had already looked at the menu beforehand, we were ready to order immediately and even placed our order before the table next to us, which had arrived earlier. However, throughout our meal, the receptionist kept walking past our table, giving us side-eyes, crossing her arms, and looking back at us with a condescending expression every few minutes. It felt like we were being watched and judged the entire time, which was humiliating and made us extremely uncomfortable.
Even though we ate as quickly as possible, finishing our starters fast, we still had to wait 20 minutes for our mains. The whole experience left such a bad impression that I was already planning to leave a 1-star review while we were still dining.
We paid our bill at 8:44 pm—16 minutes before 9 pm—but before leaving, my friend suggested we speak to the manager. When we did, he initially tried to defend the receptionist, but after listening to our experience, he made an effort to understand our frustration. He apologized sincerely, acknowledged the poor service, and assured us that he would work on improving it. As a gesture of goodwill, he even offered us some desserts to take back to our hotel.
If it weren’t for the manager, I would have given this place a 1-star rating. His professionalism and willingness to listen made a difference, but the receptionist’s attitude completely ruined what could have been a great dining experience. Please train your staff to treat customers with respect—it makes all...
Read moreI can't give this place a good review.
1 - First and most important: the morals. They willingly scam people out of their money through an appetizer they always serve yet no one asks for. You'd think this is on the house, only to realize they're charging for it later in the bill. They know very well most people are too shy or formal to complain (or aren't "cheap" enough, to ask whether this is free when it's brought to you), so this is how they snatch +2.75€ per person on every single meal as per their devious, scammy business model. They disguise the bread by completely wrapping it on cloth, to higher the chances of confusing you and having you have a taste before realizing this is the "Bread and appetizer" mentioned in the Menu (nowhere it is stated this is served by default, by the way).
2 - They keep skyrocketing the prices, so pay little attention to former reviews. I've seen their dishes raise from 20-ish€, to 23.50€, to 25€, to now 29€. Wild.
3 - Overrated food, quite expensive. For instance, their Schitzel - pay no attention to pictures: you're getting a 'beaten to a pulp' piece of meat, flattened out to oblivion and almost as thin as a piece of paper with a thick crust of fry (with truffle, an egg and some potato mash). I mean, it's a clever way to make the dish more entertaining, were it not for how evident it is to me after Points 1- and 2- that their intention is to deceive. This is supposedly their stellar dish and it 30€ yet most of it is just fried bread. You're better off to McDonalds, I kind of kid you not.
3 - Non-functional aircon in the midst of Summer. People sweating in the restaurant and they don't even have the decency to compensate them anyhow. I personally had to order two bottles of water, conveniently priced at almost 3€/small bottle. Ugh.
4 - They don't display desserts' prices as per law states, which is illegal.
5 - Their dishes are somewhat creative, especially desserts. Nonetheless, this is not something that compensates for all the 'cons'. Especially as an even-handed person, I cannot tolerate anything beyond Point 1.
6 - Staff is attentive-ish. The place is chic.
BOTTOM LINE: Almost 50€ for a Schnitzel, water and dessert (on top of all the rest of 'cons') is a...
Read moreWhat a WACK dinner. This place is a tourist trap for sure. So confused as to how this place has so many good reviews. They struggled to find our reservation even though it was made that day so we had to wait awkwardly right next to the entertainment the hired for the night which was the loudest singer wailing acoustic guitar covers of the most generic (english) pop/rock songs. It was like being stuck in the coffee shop cover cd. They really should have turned her mic down. It was wildly overwhelming and also not advertised anywhere because i wouldn't have come knowing it was dinner and a show. After we picked a table farthest as possible from the singer we were plopped in a section with what seemed to be an overwhelmed trainee server and promotly forgotten. He forgot us constantly and 3 other workers had to support him so it made our service confused and sloppy and with 3 people constantly telling you to order it was uncomfortable. We were both receiving the slowest service and yet still rushed whenever they rememebered us. The food is bland, plating is questionable and it pretends to be a fancy restaurant when it is not. A lot of the apps come put on like small wooden log rounds that have been through the washer a few times in the night so the plates are constantly soggy and look like they are growing mold. The food is bland bland BLAND. No flavor, no personality and excruciatingly over priced. We order a bottle of wine and received it then they put bread and paté on our table even though we didn't ask for it and then charged us for it. I think they know that in spain people are used to FREE snacks being placed with drinks. Like, seriously fismuler? Pulling a bread basket scam? Bff. After eating some apps and an entree we looked at the menu because we were still hungry but couldnt bring ourselves to order anything else. The servers seemed like they wanted us to leave anyways so we got the bill and had to get them to remove an item we never received then for some reason they split our bill even though we didnt ask for it. Charged my card twice from the split bill and paid over 100 euros and then walked home trying to convince ourselves we didnt have a bad night. This place is NOT worth the hype...
