The place with the most expensive benedicts I've tried in Spain, France, Prague, etc.
The plate looks great, the pictures are not edited, but the taste is lacking (and that's not because it's expensive). I had the salmon benedict and my friend the bacon. The eggs were well cooked, but didn't taste like benedict, they tasted like butter. I don't know how much butter they put, but you could swear you were eating butter with your bread, no eggs or sauce. It was a very unpleasant experience. In fact, you didn't feel anything except butter. The sauce was missing, cuz it was too diluted and nothing like the specific mustard taste.
The salmon on the other hand was plenty but tasted worse than other places in Barcelona. The corn was delicious, but it was a side dish and we hadn't come to eat corn. We were both disappointed, especially since there were so many brunches in Barcelona and I chose this one based on what it looks in the photos. Not worth the hype.
The pancakes were way too sweet and very chewy (you felt like you were chewing dough) so I didn't finish the portion. The beetroot juice was good and the coffee watered down.
The service was a bit poor: we waited to be served and each time we had to signal the waiter and then wait for our orders to be brought. If it's crowded, hire more staff.
It is not a relaxed place to eat since there are a lot of noises from the open kitchen/coffee machines. I have also been to other places with opened kitchen, but here we couldn’t hear each other...
Read moreI just had an amazing brunch at this restaurant and I'm eager to share my experience.
Let's start with the star of the show - the beef. The moment it arrived, I could tell the quality was top - notch. Each bite was incredibly tender and juicy, with a rich, savory flavor that melted in my mouth. It was evident that the beef was sourced from the freshest ingredients, making this dish a true delight.
The coffee here is equally outstanding. They clearly take pride in their beans. I sampled both the Americano and the flat white, and both were full - bodied with a complex, rich flavor profile. The Americano had a bold, clean finish, while the flat white was smooth and creamy, highlighting the natural sweetness of the coffee.
The ambiance of the restaurant is charming. The interior is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxing brunch.
The service also deserves a special mention. The waitstaff, both the young ladies and gentlemen, were extremely friendly and attentive. They were always ready with a smile, making sure every need was met.
Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. It's an easy five - star rating from me. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or a brunch lover, this restaurant is a...
Read moreLato Born in Barcelona is a fantastic destination for brunch enthusiasts. We had a wonderful time during our visit, where we ordered a cappuccino, a chicken sandwich, and egg toast initially paired with grilled mango salmon. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful, quickly and cheerfully changing the salmon to eggs to suit our preference.
The food was delightful. The chicken sandwich was well-prepared and flavorful, and the egg toast was perfectly cooked and complemented nicely by the fresh ingredients. One of the standout items was the freshly squeezed orange juice, which was refreshingly zesty and a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Presentation at Lato Born is clearly given a lot of attention. Each dish was beautifully arranged, making the dining experience as visually pleasing as it was tasty. The ambiance of the place was inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxing brunch.
In summary, Lato Born offers a superb brunch experience in Barcelona. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and aesthetically pleasing presentation makes it a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable brunch in a...
