Warm and genuine! We almost spent everyday of our entire week in Barcelona at this restaurant! As tourists from Australia, we had more than what we could bargain for from Veronika, Mechi and Carmelo. They truly love their restaurant and establish a solid relationship with their customers. They have diligently served their local customers for five years, bringing in Spanish tapas, local drink as well as Italian options. The food was of good value and quality, and drinks are of very reasonable price too. They have a group of loyal customers/friends in the community, and we came to know a few of them and through them we learned lots of little things about living in Barcelona. Their stories are invaluable. I am so grateful for everyone who tried to accommodate me who can't speak Spanish. This is a true hidden gem in Barcelona, and they are my best memory of Barcelona that I can't forget! I think Catalonians could be proud of having restaurant...

My wife and I stumbled upon Xiloka after walking down from Montjuic. We were cold and hungry. Little did we know that we stumbled onto the best meal of our trip, as confirmed by the reviews we read afterward.

The owner and his wife were incredibly hospitable. It wasn't busy mid-afternoon and she chatted with us for a few minutes. On our way out, he stopped us and gave us two shots on the house and explained the different kinds of alcohol. I wish that we could have stayed longer because they made us feel at home.

We tried 5 or 6 dishes and they were all fantastic. I would go as far as saying that you will be satisfied with whatever you get from the menu. This is the kind of place that we were looking for when we wanted to get away from the touristy parts of Barcelona. Support a local place and...

I was expecting so much more reading all these reviews beforehand and trying to get in once but it was full so this time we booked the table in advance. We were all little disappointed with the food and size of the portions. The food was nicely prepared and unlike other tapas in surrounding places I will give them some credit for that, they have their thing going on. But none of the dishes has wowed me or surprised me in any way.. it was a flat ride. The portion size is on the small side, so in reality the tapas are to be shared between two people. The service was really nice! It is a 4 stars place, but I will give it 3 because I feel 4.7 is deceptive and inflated for what...

Highly recommend! I was with my husband in Barcelona over 3 months ago, we spent the whole week. But it was here that we ate the best Spanish food! The restaurant is small, located away from the tourist crowd. Excitable owners, speaking English. You can see that they put their heart into what they do. The food was fresh, delicious, local, at very affordable prices. Everything was wonderfully seasoned and refined. We tried almost the whole menu and we regret that we discovered this place on our last day. We would like to thank the owners and cooks for their work and delicious culinary experience. We will definitely be back!!

Lovely neighborhood restaurant, run by two very sweet people who care for honest and good food. We went there on a whim and it did not disappoint. Food was varied, honest, fair portions for the price. We were able to be seated without a reservation - they do everything to make you feel welcome. We eat vegetarian and they were able to remove meat from many dishes so we could eat them. A testimony to freshly cooked food and a smart cook. The people who go there are mainly people from the neighborhood. Again a great sign. We visited twice and would come back any time.
