We would definitely recommend. The location is wonderful, close to the gothic quarter and not too far from the sea and La Rambla is a beautiful avenue. The rooms (and the rest of the building) were kept pretty much spotless, and the reception staff were all lovely and very helpful.
We could hear a little bit of the chatter from the street downstairs (Barcelona is definitely a city that never sleeps) but nothing major (the sound proofing is very good) and definitely not enough to wake you up, just something you’ll possibly notice as you’re drifting off (unless you’re out and about pretending to be Barcelonan).
My only slight gripe was that we couldn’t find a way to turn off all of the lights (all individually switched of course) as there was one that seemed to have no switch, and this could only be turned off by flipping the only labelled switch, which said “lights”, and did indeed turn off all the lights in the living room, but also all the sockets?! 🤷🏻♂️. Finally, although all of the mod cons were available; there were no instructions, and it took us ages to work out how to turn the dishwasher on (it’s not like we don’t have one at home, we just couldn’t figure this one out). Twinned with this, there were no supplies available, so we had to buy sponges and washing liquid and dishwasher tablets for a four night stay which was a waste. TBH I forgot to ask at reception whether they were available on request and just bought some from the very convenient mini market about 10m away but it seemed like an unnecessary omission in the context of an apartment.
However that’s just a (fair I think) gripe but no reason to not recommend, and we would happily stay...
Read morePerfect apartment in every way. The location is right at the busy streets of La Rambla, perhaps the most famous street in Barcelona. You will find yourself right next to the Gothic Area of the old city. There are a ton of small supermarkets and restaurants nearby, I highly recommend checking the reviews of them before sitting down, however, they can be hit or miss. Restaurants on along La Rambla are famously tourist traps, and a lot of small supermarket owners can be rude or act weird. Back to the hotel: The staff was extremely helpful and kind, they know very well about the area, and they will make sure your needs are met. The hotel room was very clean and perfect in every way, the balcony was huge, we had a washing machine, a dishwasher, the kitchen was set up well and had high quality appliances. Some small details like the high-end Rituals set for the shower and the Nespresso coffee machine were details that really made me feel at home. Only two small things were a miss for me, neither of which warrants a lower review than a 5: there is no safe, and the trash can is tiny, especially for a room with a kitchen, that will fill up in half a day. Other than that everything was perfect, we asked for new Nespresso capsules on many occasions and got them for free, the staff kept our luggage safe for us before check-in (we came a few hours early) and for 4 hours after our check-out. Thank you for the great experience and I hope to...
Read moreThe room itself was nice—modern and up to date. Staff was nice. But that is about all the the good I can say about this place. Unfortunately its in the middle of a huge construction zone…like right outside. So even enjoying the nice balcony from the room is not possible. This of course is not disclosed when booking (tough position for the business, but when you as a paying customer show up to this surprise you will not be happy). I would advise anyone looking at this place to look elsewhere until the construction is complete, which they did not seem to know when it would be. A couple months? My wife and I were staying here with our infant son, and we stayed one night and left for the La Gracia area. Booking was non-refundable, so we were out money from the rest of our booked nights, but it was totally worth it to get out of this area. In my opinion this absolutely needs to be disclosed prior to booking…maybe disclosing this would negatively impact their business, but no doing so feels deceptive. That said, maybe the strategy is to get unsuspecting tourists (like ourselves) to pay the nonrefundable room fees, and if they leave, they leave, no sweat they make their money. I can only guess. Anywho, tough spot for the business, but just don’t let yourself be deceived and look elsewhere. Unless you are content vacationing in...
