This was one of four hotels that we stayed in and at 286 Euro For two nights it was the most expensive.|Let's start with the positives. It was spotlessly clean, and on the edge of the old town in a good position for visiting the historical sites of Córdoba (which are stunning)||That said I would call the establishment a guest house rather than a hotel (albeit charging hotel prices). The room was adequate, but nothing special. There were no public rooms except for a very small "cafeteria" bar (and I do mean small, there were three tables., very close to each other. Our room with a "river view" turned out to have a view of the main road, the local municipal play park, with a shopping mall as a back drop.||Check in was slow....extraordinarily slow. Once finished we asked the man checking us in if he had any information on the local festival taking place....and were handed the previous year's schedule, as far as I could make out we were being told (with a shrug of the shoulders) "one year is pretty much the same as the next||For reasons we could not quite understand we were asked to phone reception 10 minutes before going down for breakfast (we forgot one morning, and the owner was clearly exasperated by this) I cannot understand the reason for the call....breakfast was "frugal" to put it politely. One small glass of juice. One small coffee One slice of toast One slice of processed cheese, still in the plastic One slice of very cheap processed ham. One Value brand yoghurt (a tip to the "chef" if you are going to serve your customers the cheapest of food do at least have the good sense to take it out of the packaging marked "value brand" first We are still puzzling why it needed 10 minutes warning to put this together, particularly as it took at least a further 10 minutes to be served on the morning when we had warned that we were coming. There was a pleasant little courtyard, which might have made breakfast feel a little more appetising, but the owners had not bothered to put the tables and chairs out, and so this feast took place in the cramped cafeteria||Other reviewers have mentioned the pleasant and friendly owners, we found them to be, at best, polite, nothing more (unless you forgot to give them the 10 minute warning, then it got quite frosty.....uncomfortable as we were the only people in at the time)||All in all we found this to be adequate, for what it was.,,,,,essentially a guest house, but very poor value at the price we paid, particularly compared to the other hotels we stayed in on the same trip (In Seville, Granada and Malaga)||Fortunately Córdoba itself is stunning, and a good way to making up for feeling ripped off by the "hotel" I would definitely recommend it. I would definitely not go back to this hotel, nor would I...
Read moreI made this reservation at 15:09 on 07/09/2024; it was confirmed by email and through booking.com messages. I advised the hotel through booking.com at 16:45 that I was walking to the hotel. However, when I arrived, I found the main door locked. I then found emails on my phone from the hotel asking me to register and make payment which I did with my CC through booking.com at 17:06. At 17:17 I received a message through booking.com that the hotel sent the “Signatures” i.e. my check in details to booking.com and this was confirmed in an email at 17:33: "The accommodation provider takes full responsibility for the content of this message, sent via Booking.com Hemos confirmado tu reserva en nuestro hotel. A continuación te mostramos los detalles de la reserva" However, the hotel never sent the entry code for the door. They did not reply to 6 further messages and 2 emails I sent via booking.com. I also tried to call them 6 times but they did not answer on Whatsapp or directly. Eventually, at the 4th attempt and after holding for 18 mins (call commenced at 18:02) on 07 September 2024, I spoke to "Jahjeel at booking.com. She was unable to contact the property but sent an email to the hotel at 18:29. Jaheel told me that I would receive a full refund for this reservation and that if I had to book elsewhere booking.com would pay in full in view of the inconvenience caused. She told me that I would receive an email to forward the receipt for the new reservation. At 19:04 (2 hours after arriving at the hotel, registering and paying for the 1-night stay) I was advised by email that "Unfortunately, La Posada del Molino informed us that they can no longer accommodate you due to (no reason given)". Contrary to the advice from Jahjeel this email said "We will cover any price difference up to € 19.13." I had to pay €71.10 for alternative accommodation after this very stressful experience. As of 11 December 2024, I have not received any refund for either of the reservations or any other communication from booking.com. Therefore I have invoked the CC chargeback procedure. It seems that booking.com are not disputing the chargeback for La Posada del Molino but have disputed the chargeback for the replacement hotel, despite what was said by their agent...
