This was the first place we had food in when we arrived in Girona and it was great because we were looking for somewhere not too expensive and the food was great. We had a full menu for 12€ - starter, main, dessert and drink. This also includes a basket of bread for the table and crisps. For our starters, I had seafood croquettes and my friend had a chicken salad, they were both really nice. For the menu I had a really well cooked pork fillet and my friend had a very delicious beef steak that had been cooked perfectly. They both came with chips/fries on the side as I think is the cause with most dishes in Girona. The dessert was my least favorite as I got some icecream but it was incredibly sweet as it was covered in sugared nuts, it also just didn't taste very nice. My friend had orange juice with strawberry bits in it, which I was skeptical off but it tasted really refreshing. We also had a glass of wine each and a sangria, both really really good. Overall we paid around €14 each which I...
Read moreRude rude RUDE. This place is not welcoming at all to tourists. I walked into this place and waited almost 5 minutes before someone even gave me the time of day. I asked in Spanish if I could have a table inside. Without even looking, the man responded immediately that they didn’t have any. Instead of then asking me if I wanted to wait, or sit outside, I had to finally ask him if it would be ok for me to wait until a table opens up.
A few moments later, a group of Spanish people come in, and they are immediately greeted. They ask how long the wait would be for a table. They clearly had no reservations, like me. Within a matter of seconds the man takes them to a table while ignoring me.
I ended up just walking out. This place may have good food, but no one will ever know if they are turned off by the...
Read moreI understand pintxos …this place you pay by the piece. 2.40 €. They look like they have been out all day. Just not appetizing at all. I ordered off the menu while my wife got pintxos by the piece. I ordered calamari rings €15 and their patatas bravas for 5,50 euros. The calamari was barely fried. Just a bit of breading. But I expected the calamari to have flavor. It did not. It also came out barely flash fried. That’s okay if it had been hot. It wasn’t. The potatoes brava had obviously been sitting and being held until someone ordered it. They dumped a whole bunch of aïoli over the top of it with no finesse at all. Again, that would’ve been OK and I would’ve overlooked it if they’ve been hot. They were not. We ordered an entire bottle of cava (Rovellats)which was €20 and actually very good. Would I come...
