ALLERGIES/INTOLERANCES STAY AWAY!
I stayed at this hotel recently and, unfortunately, was left very disappointed, particularly with the lack of accommodation for dietary requirements and food allergies.
The breakfast staff – one woman in particular with curly hair – was noticeably abrasive, slamming glasses down while serving us and making the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable. We were made to feel our dietary requirements were not appreciated or noted. It felt unwelcoming from the outset.
A menu item was listed as dairy-free, yet the toast arrived covered in butter. I was also served cow’s milk despite specifically requesting oat milk – a serious concern, as I have a severe intolerance. These kinds of mistakes are not just inconvenient, they are dangerous.
A companion with a gluten allergy requested no bread with her meal – yet it arrived with bread anyway. When I asked for an extra piece of bread with my meal, I was met with reluctance and a strange look. My entire meal was taken away, only to return with one less slice of bread than before. The whole situation was baffling.
The dinner and breakfast menus are extremely limited, especially for those with dietary restrictions. Breakfast portions are small.
Staff are reluctant to deviate, even slightly, from the exact amounts of each item within the dishes when asked to do so, due the fact that my companion and I could not choose ‘2 options from the menu’ as they were not allergen friendly for us. Alternatively, we asked for ´more bread’ as a replacement, but this seemed to be a hassle. Overall there’s little to no effort to provide alternatives for those with allergies.
On top of that, the room was extremely loud – it felt like the conversations from the street were happening inside our room.
Staff training on allergen awareness is urgently needed, and the overall service needs a serious overhaul. Until significant changes are made, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone with dietary needs or who values a calm, attentive hospitality experience.
The only redeeming factors were the location (little to do with the hotel), and the appearance of the...
Read moreThe location of this hotel was great! you could walk to everything- supermarket, local market, beach and restaurants. Easy to get to from the airport on the bus A1- 5 Euros in cash pp. The price is also great for the location. The facilities were nice as well, great roof top which had another dining roof top space on the 5th floor. There are also 2 lifts which is great! The indoor spa/pool area and Gym were nice and clean and great to use after a long day of walking around. It would have been great if there was proper privacy in the downstairs shower/ toilet/changing facilities instead of the rippled glass doors - or dressing gowns. The lights in the rooms required you to press the switch down for a few seconds to turn on or off. I requested to not be put in a room on the noisy side of the hotel, however that request was not fulfilled- plus the hotel was fully booked. The windows are NOT soundproof enough. Our room faced a main busy road and a small playground where you can hear the children and cars horning or driving past if you were in your room, which was a shame because we couldn't ever really open the window or enjoy the window seating area. We could also hear housekeeping dragging furniture around when cleaning the other rooms and also other guests late at night. The bathroom was beautiful, and there was enough counter space and wardrobe space to fit all of our clothes. There was a full length mirror, and the drinks in the fridge were also complimentary. Tv was in Spanish. The pillows on the beds were amazing! You had options if you wanted to use the soft one or the memory foam support one. We had Breakfast on the first day and I would not recommend unless you like rock hard bread, cold cut deli meats- hams/ and a syrupy boring bowl of fruit- not worth €9.75 pp. It was a shame that the ability to not check out late -(even during off peak season) and the noise ruined some of our stay. I would like to come again but stay on the other side of the hotel where there...
Read moreIt’s a really nice looking hotel and the staff are really nice and well-meaning, but there were just a few issues that put a dampener on our stay. It might all be teething problems as the hotel just opened, and could have been three star review if the price had been lower but for more than €200 a night for a basic room with no balcony, you would expect more.
The AC in our room didn’t work. We were offered a different room, but had already unpacked and were on a short break so would have taken too long to move rooms. We were the first occupants so would have been nice if someone had checked AC was working in each room before starting letting them out, and the issue would have been avoided.
There was a drainage issue with our shower which meant the bathroom, and by extension the whole hotel room smelled badly of drains/sewage.
Finally the service is very variable. You have to wait a very long time to get served at breakfast. The rooftop terrace is lovely and the cocktails are great but you have to come all the way down to the ground floor to get drinks, and you’re not allowed to order them from the roof, so if you’re having 2 drinks and a bowl of snacks, you have to be good at carrying a lot of things at once to avoid several journeys up and down 6 levels.
All things that I’m sure can and will be sorted in time, but for €200+ a night, you’re expecting something a bit...
