My experience at this student residence/hostel was not positive.
Communication: They left me several times in a complicated situation.
Service: When I first arrived nobody showed anything of the building complex. Nobody introduced me to any service.
The cherry on top is that, that I mentioned couple times that I will have visitors (two). At no time nobody mentioned the impossibility for two people at staying one studio. One day before their arrival it was said that this is not possible! Do you think that they are going to sleep on the street? The next thing that happened is that they ordered the security guard to check if I enter the residence with two people. Luckily, the receptionist with whom I made the payment was there and responded to him to let them in because I booked for two people.
Location: It is outside of the city located, and can’t be seen as barcelona. If you’re an int. student or tourist i wouldn’t recommend this place. Even for students it is not a nice residence, since it is also a hostel with a lot of fluctuations.
Responsiveness before booking: Before booking the studio for longterm rental (3 months) the responsiveness was catastrophic, even though I paid the registration fee nobody told anything about availability of rooms. 10 days before my semester started I contacted for a status update. They told me no studio is available! 10 days before my semester as an int. student. After couple mails we still managed to find something, but definitely due to my energy and time.
I heard that Micampus takes their time to send the deposit. I hope that this is not the case with my deposit and that they send as soon as possible.
Positive things I can say are some of the workers, who were so nice and friendly. That’s why I give two stars.
All in all, i don’t recommend Micampus Barcelona for an int. Student in a...
Read moreIf you read this till the end, you dare not walk into Micampus Barcelona. They made me homeless in just two days without any prior warning! I wrote them an email three weeks ago when the contract was about to end (attached screenshots for reference) to request an extension, and I personally visited the staff twice during that three-week period to inquire about the availability of a room. The personel ignored my request and failed to provide a resolution, deliberately delaying the reservation. This behavior was exhibited both formally and in person when I approached her. Within two days, they forced me to pack because they had arranged for another person to move in! I had been living there for six months. When I attempted to speak to the manager, the staff laughed and claimed there was no manager on-site!
The staff is accountable for the delay in the process. They entice international students from afar and then make them homeless in this manner!
I am a part-time worker with NUSS (Social security number). Additionally, I am studying at a university that has a partnership with Micampus Barcelona which recommended this place to me. The university reached out to her, but she insinuated, "It's not our problem. It's his." However, I have still not received any feedback or email from the managers or staff. I will update this thread with any potential consequences that may arise.
"For now, I can't say anything." When reached her in between three weeks.
“You wanted me to assure you that there is an extension available? We don't do it." After getting the resolution of...
Read moreI lived in this residence during 4,5 months while I was an exhange student. So, I am more than able to make a detailed review:)
Room: Surprisingly it was excatly as in the photo, everything in the room seemed to be new, except for a frying pan hahaha. The small refrigerator and stove worked perfectly, as did the microwave. The linen was changed every two weeks which was also nice.
Common areas: There are a lot of common areas to spend your leasure time or study. I won't lie I didn't visit the swimming pool or gym, but just cause I wasn't interested. I also loved a big common balcony? terrace? on 5th floor.
Staff: They are soooo nice. The unswered my endless questions via email before an arrival and helped me a lot during my stay. They are really friendly and lovely. Not all of them speak English but you can always use a translator.
Neighbourhood: I don't know why nobody speak about it, but it is just 5 minutes from the seaside and about 8 minutes from a huge shopping center with cinema and Alcampo. Yes, there are a lot of pickpockets but this is a general Barcelona problem. So do not show you phone and be cautios.
Other problems: Sometimes the electricity was cut off, but these were short periods and not really often. Moreover, WiFi worked. For some reason, the deposit wasn't automatically returned on time. I wrote an email and they solved this situation in one week. So, I don't really think it...
