I had a negative experience at Media Markt last week. Remember when you buy anything there that there is only a 14 day return policy. I was a few days late with a product return. I had my receipt and the unopened cheap product perfectly contained in its moulded plastic packaging. They said, "Don't worry we will can still return the money." It sounded OK. Then they offered me a plastic card with credit on it. I explained that this is not a refund but a credit note. The assistant replied that this was a goodwill gesture as I was outside the 14 day period. So I asked if I could speak to the manager. The manager arrived and I mentioned that I could not see the terms and conditions where it stated 14 days return and this is 14 day period is actually shorter than the company's competitors. The manager showed me the back side of the receipt and the policy was printed various times the length of the reciept in Catalan. I suggested that as we in Spain it is not unreasonable to write the conditions in a language everyone can understand as, like many others visiting the store, I do not speak Catalan. She replied, "We are in Catalonia and here we speak Catalan." So I asked, "Do you not accept that we live in Spain?" The manager then replied, "This is Catalonia." I could not believe it. I repeated my question, "So you do not believe that we are in Spain?" She replied. "As I said, we are in Catalonia and I do not wish to talk politics with you." I explained that I am not talking politics and this is a basic issue of customer service and geography and it is not unreasonable for your terms and conditions to be written in Spanish, the language of the country in which we do business. I also completely in favour of the terms and conditions also being in Catalan or any other language. I finally asked her apparent Catalan nationalism was part of company policy. She unsurprisingly refused to reply. I then said that I do not want the plastic credit note and that I will not shop here again as a result of this experience. I left the store feeling that this manager's views were ideological and unprofessional and I wondered if they reflected Media Markt's official...
Read moreThere are no english speaking sellers(((( And not the best prices compared to other stores. You will overpay 30-50-100€ and more and will wait a week for your goods. I bought here a camera, they told me to wait up to 48 hours, but I spent much more days waited for my order. I just canceled it and asked them to back my money. I bought this camera for 30€ cheaper in other much better store in Barcelona - Casanova Foto (very pleasent sellers and english speaking! highly recommend!!). And I recieved my camera without lie and infinity waiting instead of Mediamarkt.
Also much earlier I bought a Canon printer here. A promoter-seller dressed in a T-shirt with the inscription Epson was trying to impose an Epson printer for me, although I was determined with the firm's choice myself before coming to the store. He did it in Spanish, although I told him that I was talking in English. It was ridiculous. But I withdrew one point for the fact that the store promotes printers of one brand Epson giving to them not only cartridges, but also ink cans. But to Canon they do not have ink cans, only cartridges. I was forced to buy ink cans for Canon in other market.
Coffee machine took my money and didn't give my coffee. A guard stood next to me and saw that I had been robbed. He just said that I need to put new money and try one and one more time. But coffee or my money I still didn't received back.
I don't like sellers. They lazy and unhelpful even if I speaks with them...
Read moreAVOID BUYING OR PICKING UP ANYTHING HERE We got a fridge that was damaged and never worked. They could care less, they do not want to hold any responsibility even the manager of this store compared themselves to Wallapop and directed us to CECOTEC saying it's not their problem that the manufacturer needs to respond... The workers there are incredibly rude and unprofessional.
We transported it ourselves (tilted, NEVER horizontally ) and they are lying and saying that we laid it completely horizontal and that is the reason why they cannot get it immediately replaced ... with no proof nor remorse - they even mentioned "well that is why you need to get it insured by us".. sounds like a regular practice to us.
Quite disappointing as we used to buy many things for our clients from Mediamarkt and thought they were a respectful company but clearly changing distributor and warning our clients to stay away.
ANSWER TO THEIR RESPONSE FOR CLIENTS TO SEE HOW THEY LIE - Responding with a lie AGAIN- the technician said : THE COMPRESSOR HAS NEVER WORKED AND THERE WAS AN INTERNAL LEAK but there is no way to relate that to the fridge being horizontal (HE JUST TOLD ME THE REPORT AGAIN ON THE PHONE )... we never transported anything horizontally anyway - this is what you do with your clients ? lie and obligate them to hire your insurance and /or transport? We have a VAN and this fridge fits accordingly inside and that is how it was...
