I recently stayed at Hotel Gerald’s Center, a modern hotel in Seville, located about a 15-minute walk from the old city. The location is reasonably convenient, with good access to public transport, though I personally found it a little farther from the historic center than I’d have liked.
The hotel itself is contemporary and well-equipped. The room was large, clean, and comfortably furnished, with a spacious double bed and plenty of pillows. The air conditioning worked excellently, which was much appreciated given the heat. There’s also a large TV, though it wasn’t a smart TV, so I couldn’t connect a device or stream services like Netflix.
A standout feature was the rooftop pool and bar, offering fantastic views over the city—a real highlight during my stay. The onsite restaurant was also quite nice, with a good menu and pleasant atmosphere.
However, there were some hiccups. Unfortunately, Seville experienced a major power outage on the day I arrived. While the manual check-in process was handled efficiently, the hotel’s water pump was down, meaning there was no running water in the bathroom initially. When I requested drinking water, the first response was to buy it myself from a local store—disappointing, especially under the circumstances. After some insistence, the duty manager reluctantly agreed to send a bottle of tap water to my room, though the attitude could have been more customer-focused.
The window in the room was quite small and faced residential buildings, so not much in the way of views. Additionally, it would have been helpful to have bottled drinking water in the room upon arrival, particularly since it wasn’t clear whether tap water was safe to drink.
The breakfast spread was extensive with a huge variety of both hot and cold dishes. Apart from the fact that the juices were not freshly squeezed we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast
Despite these issues, the rest of the stay was fine. The hotel is modern and comfortable, and aside from the power-related problems (which were out of their control), it offers a solid base for...

Read moreI don't think this hotel deserves 4⭐... The bad- There is some fundamentals that bothered me throughout. The hotel check in was fairly unfriendly and cold which should be prioritised as it offers a customer with a first impression. The water situation in the room is poor. No water within our rooms. There is a mini fridge stocked filled with water which they charge you €4 for. I think water is a basic in a hotel. The tea and coffee station was really poor. No spoons such led to me stirring my cup of tea with a cardboard coaster. They didn't provide one for any of the days. Also only provided with one sugar for 3 days for two people?! The teas also looked old and weathered and there would be 1 camolomile and 3 of something else. It just gave me a bad taste - doesn't scream 4⭐ The service in the pool area upstairs was good but the rest of the hotel was cold and unfriendly. I've never entered a hotel and not recieved a friendly "hello" and again it left a bad taste. The gym was pretty basic. There was two weight benches and free weights. Cardio equipment and one resistance machine which was broken - this was disappointing as we chose this hotel based on the gym Hotel lights drove me mad. No hotel room needs 20 different light switches! Everything costs - there was so much advertisement and costings in the room it makes it unrelaxing. Washing services, room service, mini bar service, massage service. Its bombarding! Also 10 pamphlets in a room is annoying 😂
The good - Nice rooftop bar and pool. Also good size. Nice clean and classy aesthetic throughout including room, hallway, pool, gym and main reception area Fairly good location - a little further from the main sights but close enough to some nice restaurants and a supermarket and a short walk into town Good size hotel rooms - very roomy and modern Air con in the room
Should this put you off coming here? No. But if there is enough 4⭐ for a similar price I would...
