Sitges Playa by URH — Hotel in Sitges

What a disappointing experience. Avoid at all costs! This was a disaster. Upon checking in at 11:00 p.m., on Thursday June 21, I was met with two angry guests screaming into the phone at the front desk to the General Manager regarding the broken air conditioning. I learned from them while the front desk staff said nothing and tried to quickly check me in that the air conditioning had been broken for four days already since Thursday in the entire property. It was late so I figured I could go up to the room and check things out. Then things got worse. I opened the balcony door to see if that would make things cooler but then bugs started flying in - and the door ended up being broken and was not able to close. Then I checked out the bathroom which had mold in between the tiles as you'll see in the attached picture. I went downstairs and checked out as it was over 80 degrees even at night while I was there which is too hot to sleep and since the property didn't meet their advertisement for a 4-star property with air conditioning. I followed up with my credit card who contacted them for resolution - the hotel was unwilling to refund my purchase as well which is infuriating and further evidence that this is not a good property that cares about...

We intended to book a room on Saturday the 6th. At first, we were told that there was availability, but as soon as we mentioned that we were booking with a Smartbox pack, they told us they didn't work with Smartbox anymore. Surprisingly though, the hotel appears as an available choice in Smartbox site for several packs offered there, so I asked how come they didn't work with Smarbox but they still appear there. At this point, their argument shifted from "we don't work with Smartbox" to "this weekend, it is not possible to book with us through Smartbox as this weekend it is held the Cinema festival in Sitges ", conveying that they actually do allow bookings with Smartbox at some other dates. Therefore, I was being lied at first by the staff. I don't know why I haven't been told the thruth in the first place, but for sure I wouldn't recommend this place as they don't seem to really care about their potential customers (as I was) and their needs. I don't know why they have a deal with Smarbox they can't abide by, but I do know they didn't want and didn't try to help someone who had an interest in their hotel. I would look somewhere else for...

An excellent location, not far from the main centre. The best beach literally outside the hotel Sunbeds a bit on the pricy side, €75 for 4 beds and a parasol, but hey, comfortable and great people working on the beach, I hate sand on me , so best option.||Hotel itself, we were B&B. If you can’t find anything you fancy to eat at the inclusive breakfast, then you have a problem. Great choice of continental meats, cheeses etc fresh fruit, also great scrambled eggs, bacon beans sausage, need I go on ?||Rooms spotless, amazing hard working maids and so friendly, always really cheerful and smiling. We said one day that we didn’t need towels changing but she insisted. I’m pretty sure that the bed linen was changed at least twice.. came here for Sitges pride and got a bit of makeup on the pillow (glitter). All clean and changed later that day. ||For the price that we paid for a week long stay, did do a lot of searching on line and paid just under £700pp for 7 nights, think it was excellent value for money. ||We hope to come back next year and the following one for a family wedding. ||All in all, great holiday, highly recommend and I am...
