Extremely disappointed to be writing a negative review for an otherwise charming little tapas restaurant.
This relates to the staff and service and does not reflect in anyway the food which honestly did look incredibly delicious but we were unfortunately unable to try on this occasion.
We arrived at approximately 21:45, having been drawn in by the decor as well as the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. We found the restaurant terrace was full but for one table, which we approached, only to be told by a member of staff (appeared to be the manager) that it was reserved for a couple who had already been waiting inside and that there were seats available inside. We accepted.
As we went inside the same member of staff told us that he could make a table outside available a 5a few minutes. Under the impression this would be honoured we decided to order two small beers and took a seat inside and we’d order a drink whilst we waited for a table to become available outside.
We sat for 10minutes and had to ask for a drink, and reminded the staff that we were still waiting to be seated outside, which they acknowledged. They brought out 2 small beers over and we patiently waited.
A further 10 minutes had passed and we asked the member of staff if a table outside would still be possible or should we order food from our inside table as we were also happy with that. We were told he could get us a table outside but to wait another 2 minutes.
Not long after, we saw a table outside become available and figured it would only be a matter of time before it would be cleaned and we would be taken to it. Unfortunately, the member of staff did not do this and when another couple arrived from off the street the table was cleaned and allocated to them immediately.
We approached the waiter/ manager highlighted that we were still waiting and after a total of 50 minutes had passed we were eventually shown to another table outside. This table was just beyond the boundaries of the restaurants terrace area and not covered by the restaurants lighting which meant it was in the darkness. There were three tables available there, which were not being used and appeared that they didn’t like to use those tables as they don’t fall within the boundaries of the restaurant and really lacked in the ambiance of the restaurant- and we were very disappointed to wait all that time for such a table.
We did not feel this provided the atmosphere that had initially drawn us into the restaurant in the first place and therefore we declined the offer, we made clear our dissatisfaction and we left our drinks at the bar, and were prepared to walk away, which resulted in us speaking to another member of staff who were suddenly much more attentive when they wanted us to pay for the bill for the 2 drinks. They least they should have done in my opinion was apologise, waive the bill for the drinks and we would have been more inclined to return another night, however we paid for the 2 small beers we had ordered while waiting (€6.20).
During our time inside the restaurant we saw members of staff who were not attentive, lost focus and lacked effective communication between themselves. We sat for almost an hour waiting to be moved to a seat outside on the offer and recommendation from a member of staff who did not follow through on this due to carelessness. And while the staff were slow in acknowledging and responding to customers inside the restaurant, they were quick and forceful when it came to settling the bill. No apology was made at any time from any of the members of staff who felt it normal to keep customers waiting for almost an hour without trying to...
Read moreI've lived in and around Sitges for 7 years and why I've never known about this restaurant is a mystery to me. I was taken here for my birthday and can honestly say it's not just the best food I've had in Sitges but possibly the best food I've had in Spain! The dishes are to be shared between two and I could have eaten the whole menu, as it was so good! We shared the lobster raviol which was cooked absolutely perfectly and the lobster tasted fresh and rich. It was magnificent. We also had the deer skewers and the meat was so tender, it almost melted in the mouth. This was also served with barbecued pineapple and apple and boy oh boy! THE BEST! Alongside the artichoke hearts we had an incredible meal. We finished off with the cheesecake which is the best cheesecake I've ever eaten in my life. A great wine selection too, we went with a red of which the name escapes me. I must mention the waiters who were super attentive and friendly, as well as the atmosphere which was perfect in this incredibly cosy restaurant. I'll be back very soon!...
Read moreThe food is quite good, the waiters are polite and the courtyard of the restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere. However, I think the restaurant is ruined by a rude and arrogant manager/chef, who is the first point of contact as the open kitchen is at the entrance. The restaurant is really quite self-regarding and, while some dishes show skill and great flavours, others are quite small, slightly overpriced and underwhelming versions of classics (ensalada de ventresca, for instance, had four pieces of sun dried tomato). We did get an apology and the offer of a free dessert for being asked to wait over 25 minutes for our reserved table, which is appreciated, but it was too late in the evening and we had to leave at that point. Despite some strengths, the restaurant has an excessively high impression of itself for what is...
