La Marinada Sitges — Restaurant in Sitges

Living in Sitges, we are spoiled with fish restaurants. Some in particular claim to be the best, but in my opinion, La Marinade is a hidden Basque/Catalan gem in Sitges, whom besides the freshest of fish offer a choice of meat, all prepared on the grill. It’s a small restaurant where you can see your food being prepared for you behind the glass walls to the kitchen.

It’s cosy with the tables arranged perfectly for intimacy. The service combining both professionalism and effortlessness friendliness made it a memorable and wonderful evening. Add a touch of Gershwin and the evening was complete.

The menu is a selection of carefully chosen dishes, based on the daily available produce. We shared artichokes with clams and fresh baby scallops to start, and turbot as the main course. The cheesecake has to be the lightest and tastiest in the world.

We were looking for a good seafood place with air conditioning and were not disappointed. When you walk in, the smell of charcoal (wood?) oven seems strong at first but you don't notice after a minute. The place is usually busy but we were able to get a table without reservation. A small menu du jour with seafood catalan specialties and a regular menu with staples. The staff is nice and passionate. We decided to go for full oven baked turbot, which they will bring to your table before cooking. It's a dish for minimum 2 people but believe me there was enough for 3 or 4 especially considering we had wonderful appetizers (small scallops and fried calamari and catalan bruschetta). Hands down: this restaurant offers the BEST fish and seafood in Sitges! Especially the sea bass (lubina) with garlic is to die for, and goes perfectly with the potatoes. They also offer fresh clams of various types (menu changes, depended on season/day). The desserts like the mango sorbet or cold vanilla pudding were amazing. Simple decor, family owned restaurant.
