I couldn't believe the dreadful smell as we walked into our room here. It was smoky and musty - then it was even worse when I opened the bathroom door! We debated asking to move but thought that as we were only staying for one night we'd grin and bear it! The pillow was very thin - but luckily there was a spare in the wardrobe. The bed linen was clean (another reason we stayed) but the brown pillow placed on the bed (for effect?!) had some disgusting looking stains on them! The bathroom was relatively clean, but if you looked close enough (like along the bathroom door) you could see the lack of cleaning! We had to spend the night with the window open to try and combat the smell - unfortunately this meant that it was very noisy, as it's a central location and the bins etc were emptied and deliveries were made during the night!||The location of the hotel is brilliant for getting around Vigo and the staff were very friendly during breakfast - but a bit slow when we were checking in! ||To sum up I'd say it's ok for one night - but ask for a non-smoking room and take some spray to try and get rid of the smell!! Don't expect much from it - the pictures aren't great but it's even less great in real life!||The star is for the breakfast and the shower...
Read moreYes, the location and price of this hotel are very good and the exterior looks upscale but inside it is dingy and smells of cigarette smoke in the hallways and terribly strong in our room--even the shower stall had a really strong smell of smoke. The rooms are worn and old with an old school fan on the desk (and it was hot out). But worse the bedspread smelled of use so it has been a while since it was ever washed. The caulking around the shower was moldy. There was no way we could have spent two nights there, especially with my travel mates asthma, so we packed up, canceled our 2nd night reservation and left to a new hotel. We spent 21 days doing the Camino, staying in albergues/hostels for donations to 15 euros/nt and they were all superior to Hotel Nautico. I just am dumbfounded at the raving reviews as this was the complete opposite...
Read moreExcellent location and price. The hotel is exactly what you need for a stay in Vigo, a clean bed to sleep in, a warm soothing shower and a breakfast with a smile to get you going. The staff are so attentive, helpful and kind hearted. Their smile literally lighten you up. The marina is just around the corner where you can look in awe at the sea of yachts, admire cies islands from afar or go to the daily market to watch the women sell the daily catch, fresh fruits, veg or cheese. The main shopping area is 2 streets behind the hotel, casco vello(old town) is a 5 minute walk to the left. The park just behind the hotel is so beautiful to enjoy for coffee in the morning, an evening walk or a nice drink in any of the wonderful bars lining...
