Read moreOverall fantastic family stay at a stunning hotel. Stayed as a family with young children, the hotel is beautiful with great stuff and very family and children friendly.|Rooms are well appointed with lovely views of the mountains, very conveniently located opposite a park and 2 minutes from a supermarket and train station.|Also thoroughly enjoyed the pool and spa area in addition to the kids club.||My only small criticisms could be 1) some recognition at check in. This was our second stay in less than a year and we've handed over $5k to the kempinski it would be nice for the person at check in to say 'welcome back' rather than 'have you been here before?' 2) Prior to arrival we submit a survey around our arrival time, we anticipated we could arrive at 12 noon and we were informed that check in is at 3pm but they could make the room ready for an additional 150 CHF, this leaves a little bit of a bitter taste in the mouth when you already pay $1k a night, if you have the capacity to make the room ready for the guest then make it. 3) The F&B experience could be better. Breakfast for example is nice with a lot of options and many items to order but a little more attention could be given. The pancakes are not light and fluffy but rather stodgy, and the large block of butter they have actually tastes and smells like it has gone bad. We ordered room service a few times, and the kids menu is very good with good portions, however for us a few items we ordered did not arrive as expected with ingredients either added or missed. I also got the impression some of the food staff were perhaps seasonal temps and not up to the usual expected standards.||A big shout out to Freya from Guest relations who I could reach out to and would solve any problem immediately, which is in fact a testament to the Kempinski brand where even in the unlikely event something falls below expectations they certainly work hard to rectify it, also Nils made us feel very welcome and looked after.||The beauty of the hotel, the amazing facilities, and the child friendly aspect of the hotel in addition to the incredible guest relations staff will keep us coming...
AVOID THIS HOTEL!! The welcome drinks or no welcome was provided to us. Whereas they were being provided to all other guests. This felt very discriminatory and rude.
I don’t know if this is a hotel policy but the reception was asking us for a advance payment of 600 CHF on our credit card for security, whereas we had already made our reservation in advance. On asking another guest we met at the breakfast table, he informed he was not asked for any deposit in advance. If it is a policy STATE that very clearly before people book else please check on your staff for the harassment I suffered.
On asking for a plate from the room dining and reception it was denied that the restaurant cannot provide one as it is dinner time. I expected to receive just ONE single plate for the two rooms I booked, Room 326 and 327.
On asking for sanitary pads or tampons as I got my period unexpectedly, the housekeeping told me they don’t have any and I should contact reception. On reception the two women were NOT at all empathetic and told me they cannot provide it as the hotel has run out of it and would not be able to buy it now. I was told to go buy it myself from the nearest shop. This is so humiliating and disrespectful as in that moment when Im expecting an instant tampon or a pad they want me to walk a few blocks and buy myself a product which is a basic necessity and should be available at a so called 5 star hotel.
The initial booking was for 2 nights for 2 rooms. We had previously extended our stay and reserved 2 rooms for a third night also but the booking was under just Rohan Sabharwal for both the rooms. 100 CHF were charged, whereas it could’ve easily been managed by the hotel staff if they wanted to help cause it was pretty self explanatory but because I pointed them out on the sanitary pads they were totally not helpful and were rather rude...
Read moreWe left your beautiful palace yesterday and it still feels like the past five days were a dream.
From the moment we made our reservation, the support we received especially from Andry and the team was outstanding. Thank you so much.
To the Front Office team, the bellboys, the driver, the Lady in Red and everyone else whose names we may not remember: your hospitality was truly extraordinary. Your friendliness and warmth made us feel so genuinely welcome. We especially appreciated the thoughtful gesture of finding our package already in our room upon arrival. Small touches like that make a huge difference.
To the F&B team, we must say: Davide made an incredible impression. He brings true hospitality with his charm, charisma and sincere passion for what he does. His presence truly shines and it’s clear he leads with heart. We felt it. He was the one who recommended we take a trip up to Fürenalp and it absolutely didn’t disappoint! The view was breathtaking and we’re so glad we followed his suggestion.
The entire breakfast staff was equally exceptional. We had the pleasure of speaking with several staff members such as Made from Bali, a Vietnamese team member, an Indonesian staff member, Thomas ( dinner time ) and many others. They were all incredibly sweet, talented and passionate. Thank you for supporting and empowering such young, dedicated professionals.
To the chefs, thank you for the wonderful breakfasts and unforgettable dinners. Every meal was a delight.
A special thank you to Brenda for the warm welcome, she’s such a wonderful person!
Also, sincere thanks to the Housekeeping team for keeping our room perfectly clean and comfortable. We felt so well taken care of throughout our stay.
Thank you again for everything. You’ve given us memories we’ll cherish, and we already look forward...
