7/14/2025 2nd Review based on more recent stay:
The Hyatt Regency Circle is a fantastic place to stay and base your Zurich area from. First and foremost, you won't find any other hotel that is closer to all forms of public transportation. The airport, train station, tram station and bus station are literally across the street with a 5 minute walk. Extremely convenient. The hotel itself is well maintained and modern. The breakfast buffet is one of the best you will find in any hotel. The water pressure - wow. You won't find anything better than that either! We stayed at 4 different Hyatt's during our trip to Europe in 3 different countries. The Regency Circle has the most comfortable beds we've found. The staff is focused on guest satisfaction and want you to be happy and have a great stay. If you go to check in, see if Princess is working - she is amazing. So very friendly and happy all the time.
This is a new hotel and a great option when in Zurich. It's literally across the street from the airport, train station, tram stop and bus stop. You can get to anywhere from there. The hotel is very nice and staff very responsive. Breakfast buffet is the same every day, and go when it's busy otherwise the food is lukewarm at best on the buffet. They have a "hidden" menu too for the "hot" items like french toast, omellet, etc. We stayed 4 nights and the first morning the menu for the made-to-order items was on every table. The other three mornings, the menu was gone. I asked about the menu and was told they don't have a menu but I could get an omlette. The TV menu had an option for a "Pillow Menu" that offered 4 different types of pillows. I called front desk and asked for one of them and they were very confused. When I said Pillow Menu, they said I needed to talk to Room Service Food since my question was about a "menu". I said, no it's a pillow..that you sleep on...and they had no idea what I was talking about. The next day I went down and talked to the front desk, and showed them the screenshot from the TV and I was met with extreme confusion. No idea. The receptionist then asked her supervisor who had no idea what it was, even when I showed them the screenshot. She took a photo of it too and then said she would talk to Housekeeping and see if they know anything. About an hour later, Housekeeping knocked and brought me two beanbags, that you would use for Cornhole! Too funny...We just had to laugh......and be impressed that they tried so hard, and somehow, came up with some beanbags. A++ for effort. Other than those two things, the stay was great. Club lounge is open for afternoon snacks..no hot items, but it's a beautiful room. The entire hotel is very modern and nice. All employees did their best to help out any way they could. Location cannot be beat with all the...
Read moreThis is a great hotel. It is actually not an airport hotel. It is a 5+ Star city hotel that happens to be located at an airport. So in addition to getting all of the benefits of a city hotel, a guest also enjoys the convenience of being located a 2 minute, covered walk from one of the world's leading airports. Plus, Zurich Airport is only 10 minutes away by train, tram or car from Zurich's city center. So a traveler gets the best of all worlds. The hotel is so well-constructed and soundproofed that the guest can hardly hear a thing from the outside, including departing aircraft. The facilities at the hotel, including the rooms, fitness center, executive (Regency) lounge, restaurant, lobby seating area (with relaxing fireplace), artistic bar and adjacent park, with walking trails and an airport view, are all excellent. But as with all hotels, the most important thing is the team. Having spent more than 4,000 nights in hotels during my career, I have developed a pretty good sense of when a team is average, good or great. This team is great. Every single person with whom I have dealt at this hotel has been superb: friendly, competent and caring. It's almost impossible for any service business to pull this off. In most cases, a person deals with at least one person who doesn't quite make the grade. Here, everyone goes the extra mile and does make the grade. Amazing. To illustrate the depth of the talent at this hotel, here are the names of some of the team members who have distinguished themselves, both to me and other guests: Lea, the front desk assistant manager; the super- and multi-talented Princess, who excels in a variety of roles at the hotel; Carolin, who brings a beautiful vision to the Regency Lounge; the entire breakfast buffet team, under the excellent leadership of Valentin, including superb chef Ervin and his colleague, Asad; the always-friendly, positive and upbeat servers Paramee, Nati, Grace, Crystal Rose, Alisha and Quirin; Regency Club coordinators Jan and Helena (who also works at the front desk); skillful bartender Kevin; and young, up-and-coming, extra-talented waiter Maximilian. Special Mention goes to Kolja, the overall manager of these extraordinary achievers. My profound apologies go to those I have not named; please forgive my poor memory, and know that I respect and thank you all. One note for those planning to stay at this hotel: you might wish to consider upgrading to a room that provides access to the Regency Lounge. It is a beautiful and peaceful space that you can use at your convenience, and the evening reception is excellent, similar to what you find at fine Asian hotels. But lounge access is not necessary for a great stay; it's just a nice extra touch. Overall, this hotel is an...
Read moreDo not ignore this warning, the rooms are hot and stuffy, guests cannot control the temperature at all. ||If you don't like to sleep or can not sleep at 24-25 degrees Celsius (75.2–77.0 degrees Fahrenheit) then do not stay! ||I had read the reviews about this issue but assumed it would be a problem in summer months, but no. ||It is late October now, outside the temperature is 7 degrees C now (44.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Yet, the rooms are hot and stuffy. The CO2 is also high, often over 1000 PPM, which is bad indoor air quality. ||This problem occurs all year round. ||The Honeywell INNCOM e7 thermostats installed at Hyatt Regency Zurich The Circle are specifically designed so guests cannot override or control their settings. Seems to be part of some green agenda bs. These devices use proprietary firmware and centralized building management integration, meaning manual override options are intentionally restricted to maintain building-wide energy performance, fire safety, and legal compliance with hotel operating standards. ||Many guests at Hyatt Regency Zurich The Circle have reported similar complaints on tripadvisor and google reviews, check for yourself — The rooms often remain uncomfortably warm at night (temperatures around 24–25°C), and even multiple requests to staff frequently produce no real resolution. Reviews repeatedly mention that the building's automation and the Honeywell INNCOM e7 system prevent effective temperature control, with most responses from hotel staff limited to reassurances or superficial adjustments that do not fix the underlying issue. ||||Not the other aspects of this Hyatt property. ||In 2021 is was awesome, especially f&b and service. Its has already steeply declined! Breakfast is bad now, the pancakes and french toast were both inedible, service is poor, lounge is abysmal. There was not even a single staff member in the lounge for about an hour on a Saturday evening between 18-20, dishes were not cleared, food was not refilled, there were no plates, people took the saucers from the coffee machine to put food on to. Whatever food there was, it was not not...
