Came in to the restaurant. Had a good mood. A lady showed me to the table, told me to sit, and did not even smile. I ordered burger and a beer. Bartender was very nice, I asked to taste the different beer types they had on draft, and he gave me the 3 options they had. The waitress came later with a burger. I tried to ask for ketchup, she passed by my table and totally ignored me. I could see she heard but she looked straight and ignored. Even next time she went by I said, excuse me, and she appeared very unwilling to attend. However she did, I asked her for ketchup, she told me the sauce I had on the plate was the same, and then she left. Started eating the burger, bread was hard, just like a cracker. Burger I asked for was well done, which was what I asked for. But it was so hard I could probably beat someone with it. Had well done burgers before and they were nothing like this. Maybe it was precooked, and reheated.... I only ate the burger because I was very hungry, otherwise I'd ask for the bill and only pay for the beer. I asked for the bill, the lady came and it was the first time she was smiling. How was it, good right??? Then she left to bring the bill. She came back and I gave her my card. Needless to say I didn't put in any tip. She saw it and gave me my card and said bye. Back to normal attitude, no smiling.
No, I'd definitely not go back, and I'd definitely not recommend the place for anyone wanting to eat. Service: Bad Food...
Read moreI visited this place twice - once just for drinks at the bar on the left hand side with a friend, and once again with a larger group of 8 so we sat in the larger section on the right side. The first time was very pleasant, we had a few beers with some complimentary cashews etc. The ambiance is great, the service was very friendly and made sure they came back to see if we wanted to order more. The second time with the larger group, a few of us ordered some beers and few ordered food. The waiter was not very happy about the fact that not everyone was eating and started complaining about how it costs them to have tables occupied. I didn't really understand whether it was not correct etiquette to order food with drinks (whether you want to or not?) or whether it was just a one-off thing but it wasn't appreciative. Other than this we did enjoy our time there nonetheless. The same waiter was also kind enough to arrange for separate bills for everyone. The ambiance is not eerily quiet but not marketplace-loud either. The music doesn't overpower conversations and the decor is comfortable. The price is slightly on the "upper deck" compared to the rest of the spots in the restaurant.
All in all UpperDeck is a great place for food as well...
Read moreWe were a family of four, and we were questioned at the restaurant's entrance if we were there to "eat". What else any person can be in the restuarant for??
On the menu card, the item we were seeking for was denoted by the sysmbol green leaf. When questioned, however, the waiter revealed that "fish oil" is an ingredient in the red sauce. Phew.. I don't see how they can call this veggie and how they could possibly list it wrong on the menu. After paying for the water we had already used, we excused ourselves and departed the table without placing an order.
The restaurant staff (I forget his name but he appeared to have his head hair shaved off) was quite disrespectful and demanding that we pay for the water as we were leaving without even bothering to verify the bill was paid. This person's actions caused us a lot of distress. We're hoping this gets the attention of the restaurant's management and prompt...
