Outstanding experience of first time eating Persian food in Taiwan. Persian restaurants are relatively rare around Taiwan but much more common in Australia. This Persian restaurant is a buffet restaurant which is special. I started to fall in love with Persian food when having a trip there.
In the beginning, I ate a plate of Beef and Lamb Koobideh Kebabs and saffron rice. Saffron rice wasn’t the best but still very good. The Koobideh here was as juicy and tender as that I’d eaten in Australia. Chicken Koobideh was also juicy and the chilli sauce made it even greater. The chicken wing tasted nice and savoury. The Lamb Roast was much more tender than it looked, which was amazingly delicious. I also tried a small amount of Dill Shrimp Rice. The shrimps were good and the Dill rice tastes familiar somehow.
In terms of drinks, saffron juice tasted kinda sour, sweet and similar to Passion Fruit and I liked it. Iranian Ice Black Tea was also great with liquid sugar added (liquid sugar was next to the Black Tea area).
When it comes to desserts, I took 2 of each chocolate and original Fereni, a cream caramel, Muscati and coconut. All of these were great and Muscati tasted pretty sweet. The original Fereni was almost as fluidic as a drink, but the chocolate one was solid. In addition, they didn’t make Saffron ice cream today, but they got caramel ice cream instead and it was beyond my description. If you want a scoop of ice cream, you need to go to the bar and ask the staff.
In conclusion, the price for this meal was $599 + $599*10% = $659. It’s cheaper than the ones in Australia. On top of that, the Persian restaurants in Australia are non-buffet restaurants and still more expensive.
Overall, it’s a 9.5 out of 10! Unfortunately, there was no Faloodeh (Persian Lime and Rose Water Granita With Rice Noodles), which was my favorite Persian dessert in Australia. If there were Faloodeh, it would be 10 out of 10. But still definitely worth it to eat here again in the near future. The service, food and the atmosphere are all...
Read moreFood is ok but the service need to be improved. First, a guy served the menu only for one person. I got only one for alcohol and hookar one.
Second, a young waiter doesn't know how to lead the table and serve. He was terrified. Third, the we order homemade yogurt with three flavors, hummus, chicken kebab.
Main food should be served in the last but it came first. Chicken tasted good. I like it. But the yogurt tasted all the same, didn't feel specialty. Hummus tasted like from Costco. Doesn't feel authentic or must to try like when you go to Arabic countries. Feel like its not worth it to spend money in the restaurant. Even the rosti bread/naan served cold, and. It tasted like frozen pre-made food that bought it from somewhere and then they just put in the oven to roast it.(not even hot.)
Fourth, how they serve food is weird. They don't remember who's drink belongs to whom. Then just put food on the table without caring too much. One tall girl who served at B1 table on 2/22 8 to 10pm has really bad attitude. She wasn't smiling, when we asked is there any alcohol in the mojito we ordered, she just stared at us and say yes. We felt there's nothing so we asked, she should have said that let me asked the kitchen, is it too little for you?
Last, I think they forgot out dessert so I couldn't write anything about it.
For conclusion, if you want to try nice kebab but have to deal with bad service attitude, you're very welcome to come. But I won't come again.
So the tall girl served the dessert finally, but with one spoon and still not smiling or tell us what kind of food...
Read moreWe came to this Iranian restaurant to relive the flavor of the Middle East. The food is okay, I shared half piece of the baklava with my friend, and it tasted nice… hummus is not bad, in general the food is authentic enough even tho a bit repetitive but not a bad price. However, the strict 105 min dining time and the attitude of the waitresses had ruined the night. As any normal customer we wouldn’t time ourselves, as usually the waiters in any restaurant will be kind enough to remind customers when the time is almost up. However, In 1001 nights kitchen, when you specifically keeping your dessert in the end, and going excitedly for the “saffron ice cream” the waitresses looked at the watch and said you are not allowed to take anymore food. And 2 of them were backing up each other to the customers. (And the restaurant is half empty) That was literally the worst dining experience in my life all around the world. Maybe it’s our fault not to take food earlier, but this indeed destroyed all the positive feelings about the restaurant. So be sure to time yourself if you ever come, in case you had good chat with your companies and forgot about time. But I will not step in this restaurant again. (Also feeling embarrassed that I invited my friend here) a friendly reminder to the owner, restaurant is not only about food but the whole feeling and experience...
