Yi Su Hotel — Hotel in Taipei

We stayed there. Below is what we experienced and how we felt during the stay.

pros -Close to major tourist attractions (Night market, famous restaurants and such) -500m walk from Taoyuan-Taipei Metro (straight road, was quite easy to navigate) -The closest YouBike spot is just in front of the hotel :)

cons -The room (we booked a superior twin) was too small, very different from what they showed in the picture: just beds. No chairs. We did everything on our beds - eat, drink, change clothes. I stayed with my mom but we thought this was not recommended to stay with friends. It will be a bit awkward. -One of the wallpapers was torn down and had a huge black mold on the backside of the torn wallpaper -No handsoap in the room -I almost suffocated with tons of chunky dust in the room (when was the last time they did vacuum cleaning??) -Distinctive big noises (the sounds of doors closing, ppl showering, talking...) -They never changed our bed linens -One of the room towels smelled like semen (what?! -The shower's water pressure was so weak, sometimes did not work (One day, it seemed the water pipe got broken, and they never apologized for the inconvenience. They offered to change hotels, and we did. They refunded the rest of the dates) -One of the receptionists wasn't nice, she even sighed with an irritated face. -They have only one elevator (we could wait, but if you are in a hurry, it will be a bit stressful)

1. Location - Good
2. Customer Services - Very bad, not all staffs, one lady, night staff, should be a senior one, wearing spec. Very turn off by her attitube and arguing when checked in. 3) Cleanliness - quite bad, stains on wall and in toilets, theres even dry blood spotted. Very dusty as well.
3. Size of Room - Well, good for couples or per pax. Definately not for family.
4. Comfortability - loud road noise at night and humming of some machinery throughout the night.
5. House Keeping - no consistency to proper cleaning.
6. Level 13 - A floor with no elevator, this piece of information was only send via email a day b4. a) It should have been send out to inform guest as early as possible. b) The hotel staffs should have look into thier customer profile and ensure proper delication of rooms. ( how can u expect a family with 1 old and 2 little ones to handle all these narrow stairs)? c) This 13 level with no lift information, should be in the hotel webpage or any online hotel booking agencies, they have collabarate with. There should be transparancy, not informing the guest so last min.

Overall, a very bad experience ** especially the staff i mention...

Actually I expected more out of this hotel at first. Because the room is not really big as I expected it to be. However, I notice that the room is very clean and the staff would clean the room if you turn on the sign for make up room. You also get breakfast in the morning (I'm not too sure if this applies to every room type). You get towels changed everyday if you ask to make up your room. You can also request for free bottles of drinking water. The hot water works fine and the bed is pretty comfy. The location of this hotel is right next to the park which is beside the entry to NingXia Night Market. It is very crowded at night and they sell a bunch of good food that you should definitely try if you stay at this hotel as the night market is only within 4 mins walk from the hotel. In the morning, you can also enjoy Taiwanese breakfast right across the hotel. They sell sandwiches, noodles, egg pancakes, burger, etc. Meanwhile, the nearest MRT station is Zhong Shan or Taipei Main Station. Right next to the hotel, there is also a ubike station where you can use your easy card to rent and enjoy your time...
