LIMA DUVA RESORT — Hotel in Ko Samet

We stayed in the hotel with my family. Booked 3 rooms, and found the hotel through trip advisor review. We thought we will take the chance, as I cannot find much review about the hotel, but the hotel looked brand new. Booked hotel through agoda.com, get a good rate.||||Prior to arrival, I thought I can find the hotel phone number through the hotel website. If you notice, you go to the main website, but it did not list the direct phone number of the hotel. Hotel seems brand new, but super terrible service. We wanted to find out the direction to get to the hotel from Rayong, but we cannot contact them. In the end, we take the chance, took the boat from Rayong to the pier, and then asked the people how to get there. We took the Songtaews and got there in a few minutes.||||When we checked in, the rooms were super hot, and we had to borrow their fans to help circulate the air. We thought since it is already very late, we will have quick lunch in the hotel, and go to the beach. Wrong choice!! We ordered a couple of food like fried rice, pad thai, curry, and egg omelette. It took them almost 1.30 hours to bring out the food. At first they said the food will be out in 20 minutes.. I wonder if they need to cook the rice first in order to make the fried rice? Do not order the food from the restaurant. There were a few other tables also waiting impatiently for their food. When the food finally comes out, the food tasted so bland and the price we paid for is not justified. Better to find other food around the beach somewhere.||||Location is about 15 minutes walk through the dusty main road to the main beach entrance area, unless you can walk in through another hotel called Sae Kaew Beach hotel. I recommend to stay in this Sae Kaew Beach hotel. It is located right at the beach, beautiful hotel, modern, and even have a live band in the restaurant at night. ||||Our worst experience was during our check out time, which was supposed to be at 11.30. We requested to have a late check out, but I think it was the manager (the very nasty one - that we never seen her face before, do not allow us to do a late check out). She allows us to check out at 12.30p.m in the end. She was the worst person ever in the whole hotel. There was the pregnant front desk which was very polite, and kind, there was the front desk lady who has a little half pony tail tied behind her head), and there was the nice lady at the restaurant who kept apologizing that the food came out super late, and there was the young men who helped with the luggages & food order-- everyone was super nice, except that one person - whom we think is the manager. As when she made her statement, no one actually talked back at her.||||We checked out late as a few of us had a oil massage service in the hotel, and some had gone to the beach. And when we need to shower after the oil massage, surprisingly, at 12.00 sharp, the whole water supply PLUS electricity in our rooms was switched off. So my family cannot take shower or even stayed in the room to clean themselves. They had to take shower in the outdoor pool area and washed themselves there and in the pool. When we checked out at 12.30 sharp, suddenly the water & electricity in the rooms came on. When we talked to her, she said "Oh, I don't know.. it's the whole place has no water & electricity.. Its the government". That is such a lie. If the electricity was off, and water supply was cut off, how come there's water in the pool area and the ceiling fans in the office is still working? And when we checked out, at 12.30 sharp, everything is back to normal.. The manager even had the guts to have 2 luggage porter wait outside of our room doors. So ready to kick us out from the rooms.||||Yet, when we were walking out to the front desk, we passed by so many rooms that were not even cleaned yet and there's no one checking in. Why bother kicking out guests so fiercely and made us feel so unwelcomed, angry and yet there's no people checking in and empty rooms are not even cleaned out yet?||||I recommend, DO NOT STAY in this hotel. Although the other working people are nice other than that particular manager, it just makes the whole experience totally ruined. It ruined our once a year family vacation, ruined our mood, and it just makes you feel so bad to feel that you get kicked out of a hotel in a rude & outrageous way.||||On a side note, the hotel rooms also do not have any phones in the room and the housekeeping also do not clean our rooms during our stay there. And we figure why the hotel has no phone line. Its because they use cell phones as their hotel phone number. I made the booking in advance, and then due to some last minute changes, I have updated the booking. Despite the staff telling me it would be cheaper to stay in those new dates, I was overcharged. No one seems to know what happened and case closed. I also didn't bothered much as I didn't want to ruin the holidays with complaints in the front office. The staff is very polite but there is some training needed. At breakfast we ran out of milk and we had to ask the staff for more otherwise they wouldn't notice the milk container was empty. Same with the fruit and the forks. The housekeeping didn't make our bedroom until we found out that we had to ask for it. The swimming pools were gorgeous but looking closer they were dirty (there is a hat on the bottom of the pool for a couple of days now)||Now the positive side: Large bed, spacious bedroom, location (just a short walk from the beach), good internet connection, the staff is always smiling and the breakfast selection is very good. I believe that this hotel has space to improve and to becoming one of the best accomodation in this area. I hope this review...

Poor location. Not correct description or map reference. Room 317 is Noisy room from pool pumps and they must know it, So we had to move. Lots of little annoyances 332 bad tv signal. Their is no wardrobe just a small area. Not enough sockets The washing is piled up by the stairs. Dangerous. The stairs have plants poking through dangerous. Some Staff are allowed to sit around playing with their phones. Breakfast is badly organized, no heating of food, rancid butter. No toaster, no bacon. Egg station was ok. I would say breakfast more to Asian taste. Pool very strong chemicals. Special mention to Jam Ruen and Pan ya. Great staff helpful attitude friendly but professional they stood out. ||Sadly this place is let down by bad managers. A nice property that is run badly and cannot be recommended. But I or someone with an eye for detail could get it in much better shape...
