Blue Wave House — Hotel in Ko Tao

Cannot put into words what an amazing experience it was staying at Blue Wave House Hotel. Let’s start with the location, it’s pretty much perfect. The hotel is right in the centre of everything, you’re only a stones throw away from the pier, the main beaches, the view points and everything else. It’s all really close by to the hotel and most things are walking distance from the hotel. Location wise I couldn’t have asked for better. The hotel itself is just a clean, modern and homey design. It’s aesthetically appealing with a beautiful garden in the center which most rooms overlook. The rooms itself are a decent size with a lovely outdoor sitting area, they get lovely natural light, the bathroom is clean and tidy which is always important to me. The bed was extremely comfortable and the AC worked great. We received complimentary bottles of water every day in our rooms. They really take interest in the fine details, for example, there is a hairdryer and beach sarongs for you to use. The hotel provides a simple but wonderful breakfast, again paying close attention to the small details that make a big impact. For example, the butter and jam, that is served with the toast is high quality and tasty. They offer coffee, tea, ovaltine and even milo. Even the little wooden boards that the toast is served on adds to the charm of everything. The hotel has an all day coffee and tea station where you can make your own beverage and sit in one of the many spots dotted around the hotel (some of which have amazing sunset views). There’s even biscuits available for you to dip into your drink. The hotel has a water dispenser that you can fill up a bottle or drink from at any time. A lot of effort and thought has been put into the hotel and it’s little charms. There’s a shower for you to use if you come back from the beach on your checkout day and don’t have your room to freshen up I’m anymore. The hotel also has motorcycles to rent. Now for the final bit of this review, I wanted to save the best for last, the true charm and heart of this hotel is the owner and her staff. The owner is the nicest, sweetest, kindest person you will ever meet. She and everyone else makes you feel like you’re her family, she took such good care of us during our stay that I actually felt like I was at home staying at my moms place. She showered us with smiles, help, kindness and love. She also speaks excellent English. If anything I will go back and stay at this hotel purely to receive the hospitality and service that the owner gives her guests. Everything about this hotel deserves a 5 star rating. Wow, where should I start?

The staff is like the friendliest we had here on Koh Tao. They kept our baggage hours before the check in and even offered us some water and coffee.

The air-conditioned room has been super clean and smelled like spa.

After a few days we spontaneously wanted to stay a bit longer. “No problem, you’re welcome” the receptionist said.

The location is next to a road, but we slept very comfy and heard not much traffic. The mattress and the sheets has been clean.

The breakfast is as simple as good. Some toast, marmalade, orange-juice, fruits and filtered-coffee. Couldn’t ask for more.

We read a lot about scooter hire on Koh Tao, but here everything worked really well and we were able to hire the scooter for ฿250 per day.

Definitely gonna revisit this beautiful place 🌊

I stayed here for over a week and I really enjoyed my stay! The room is really nice, very clean and the size is totally fine. The balcony is also nice.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the service is amazing. Your room gets cleaned every day, fresh towels and free water!! You also get a free basic breakfast. There’s also a common area which involves basic kitchen necessities.

I liked the location a lot! It’s at the top of the hill, but in two minutes you’re at the port or at the nearby diving schools, shops, restaurant etc. It is next to the main street, which the staff makes very clear to you before your arrival and also while checking in. I expected more traffic, but I didn’t think it was bad and slept really well.
