Patong Gallery Hotel — Hotel in Patong

Due to a last-minute rushed online booking, I made the (not ridiculous) mistake of booking into the "Patong Gallery Hotel", when I thought I had booked into the "Gallery Hotel, Patong". Clearly the locations and styles of the two hotels are very different, so I was disappointed to have made such a mistake.||That said, for a budget-minded short-stay within the Patong city limits, the PGH room was clean and the basic appointments were satisfactory (good TV, in-room safe, good a/c). I did not venture into the rest of the hotel "facilties", as the "breakfast room" appeared to still be under construction, and visitor car/scooter parking is on the main road out the front. There is no swimming pool or passenger lift.||The main complaint with the whole experience was the noise levels from the main road to the front of the hotel, and the paper-thin doors to each room that lets in all the discussions the other guests seem to want to have in the hotel public areas at midnight on a Monday night. The traffic noise from the road is a diaster due to thin glazing on the windows. There is nothing to look at out there, so I'd recommend requesting a room to the rear of the hotel.||But as said, the PGH is within the Patong limits, and offers decent budget accommodation. I did not know where to stay in patong area. Got to know from my friend that this hotel was quite new and told me give it a try. ||||I stayed in gallery phuket on my first night at phuket. I checked in to the room and I dont feel comfortable staying in. Indeed there are bugs in the room (according to my girlfriend is sandflies) and my feeling was they didnt clean the room properly before offering to their guests. ||||This hotel is very near to nightlife of phuket (very convenient for ppl that love to party) and decent rate compare to other small hotels in phuket but they should improve on up keeping of their...
