I stayed at Dusit Thani Pattaya after this hotel had been recommended to me from a close friend. It certainly did not disappoint. Check in was quick and easy. As I was in an executive room, my check in took place in the lounge. I was pleasantly surprised that my room got upgraded to a King Executive Room which was exceedingly spacious, The bathroom included both a bath and shower with excellent amenities. The shower was a rain shower, There was also a shower outside on the balcony which meant you could shower open air if you wanted.
The bed was a super king-sized and exceedingly comfortable. TV was well positioned and bedside had both power sockets both sides and full light units which meant I could control the lights from the full room from my bedside. There was a desk with power sockets and comfortable leather chair which was ideal to work at. The room also included a balcony which was spacious and had two deckchairs with cushions. WiFi was also available in the room and was consistently fast. The room also gave 4x bottles of complimentary water per day, more than sufficient for one person!
The executive lounge was slightly disappointing I felt. It was very busy during evening cocktails and although included cocktails, beers, wines and spirits the food selection was poor. However, the executive rooms let you get 3 items of cleaning done per day complimentary which was excellent and that with a few drinks at night you certainly get your money back on an executive room.
Breakfast was equally impressive, If you were in an executive room you could choose to either have breakfast downstairs in the main restaurant or in the executive lounge. I always opted to dine downstairs in the main restaurant which was very tasty. The first morning I was there around 6am and it was very quiet and staff were very attentive with tea and coffee. You can also request cappuccino or speciality coffees from the servers, These are also included in the price and very good. Breakfast was slightly busier around 9.30am however still enough seats and was quickly shown to a table.
Pool areas were very pleasant with the hotel having two large pools, There was always enough deckchairs and the pool attendant goes over and sets up your deckchair both with a towel on the deckchair and also one for your head. The way the pools are situated you are overlooking the sea which is spectacular. During my time swimming I found the pool to be a good temperature and never too busy.
Checkout was fast and straight forward, was so sad to leave such an excellent hotel but am sure I will...
Read moreThe Dusit Thani Pattaya remains an iconic establishment on North Pattaya beach, boasting a truly prime location. My earliest memory of this hotel dates back to my childhood, and it's impressive to see it still standing strong. While it's an older property, it's remarkably well-maintained. The cleanliness is particularly noteworthy, and the tropical garden with its indoor waterfall is a beautiful feature. Service is good – friendly, helpful, and more relaxed compared to the luxurious Dusit Thani Bangkok, which suited our holiday mood perfectly.
We booked a Club Room, which offered excellent value for money. The convenience of dedicated check-in and check-out, along with access to the Club Lounge, was a significant plus. The lounge provides breakfast, daytime snacks, and evening alcoholic beverages. Breakfast in the lounge is more peaceful than in the main dining area, though with fewer food options. The evenings, starting from 5:30 PM, get quite busy due to the complimentary drinks. We also enjoyed a good dinner with excellent food and service at The Bay outlet.
The hotel offers two pool areas: one by the beach and a smaller, more serene one on an upper floor. Both have convenient pool bars. The gym is well-equipped, though the low ceiling made it feel a bit uncomfortable. A great development in Pattaya is the improved footpaths and beach areas, which allowed us to enjoy a fantastic beach run.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we did note a few areas where Dusit could make improvements. My wife, a Dusit Gold member, will also include these points in her direct feedback: Of the three electric outlets under the mirror, only one was barely functional. The coffee machine wasn't working well, and the maid didn't replenish the coffee capsules (which was fine, as we didn't use it again due to the malfunction). One chair on our balcony was noticeably run-down. On our second night, the hot water in the bathtub came out dark yellow with residues. We had to run the water for a long time, and even then, we only felt comfortable putting our feet in. We didn't report this at checkout due to other errands, but we wanted to mention it here and for their system. We truly love Dusit, and we hope to see these improvements.
Despite these minor issues, we will definitely be returning to the Dusit Thani Pattaya on...
Read moreAvoid Dusit Thani Pattaya’s Deluxe Rooms!!
My current stay at Dusit Thani Pattaya was a deeply disappointing experience as of now , far from the five-star standards it claims to uphold.
The Deluxe room I was assigned was in an appalling state, completely misrepresenting the term “deluxe.”
• Room Condition: The room was filthy and simply unacceptable. The closet door was broken, which surprisingly, no one bothered to inspect. The toilet, which should be a basic necessity, lacked a toilet shower—a feature you’d expect even in the lowest category of accommodations. The carpet corners were visibly dusty, generally filthy, and stained with what looked like dried blood, and beneath it, the floor was cracked and uneven, raising serious safety concerns. • Service and Response: Upon arrival, no welcome drink was offered—a basic courtesy at any reputable hotel! When I complained about the room’s condition, three staff members inspected it with me and acknowledged how bad it was. Yet, the duty manager claimed no other rooms were available to move me for next 2 days. Only after escalating my complaint to Agoda did a room in a different category suddenly become available - right in front of my original room. • Lack of Accountability: Even after moving me to a club room, the hotel failed to extend any club benefits as a gesture of apology. While I don’t particularly care about these benefits, the fact that they didn’t offer them as a token of goodwill speaks volumes about their indifference to guest satisfaction. • Unannounced Nighttime Pest Control: To make matters worse, at 10:30 PM, a terrible noise and smoke filled the area around the swimming pool due to what appeared to be a major pest control operation. The hotel failed to inform guests in advance as no letter was left in the room accordingly, causing significant air and noise pollution late at night. Such negligence is beyond comprehension.
It is shocking that a hotel claiming to be five-star would sell rooms in such filthy and unsafe conditions while also failing to communicate about disruptive activities like pest control.
I strongly advise against staying here until they take serious steps to address...
