All the while I had avoided this hotel because friends had said that there ain’t no decent table where you could lay your notebook to work. The first time I stayed there, I was surprised when I walked into my room to find a big table built into the side wall. That’s where the window was and the view of Terminal 21 under construction in sight. And then the second time I stayed there, I was delighted to find a room with balcony, but oh no, no working table. Those are the rooms facing the inside, where you see the pool below. Ask for an ironing board, it doubles as a table. Anyways, there are 2 room types, one with and one without table. You can request whichever when you check in. That’s when I know during my 3rd stay there in a month.
The sleep was good, the bed was clean and the linens comfortable. The room is small so it did be for the main purpose of just staying for the night and nothing more. I also found that they have this emergency switch thingy that should you suffer heart failure during naughty Pattaya activities, your partner can pull on it to raise an emergency alarm. It’s similar to those you find in hospital bedside and I wonder if Ibis used to be a hospital. Maybe there is a morgue in the basement. During one of my stays, I had a noisy air conditioner. It was like I slept in the engine compartment of a large cargo ship. The toilet is proportionally small, very pack and compartmentalized. Waking up with a heavy hangover in there, you would think you are on the international space station.
Breakfast was well presented, but on 2 out of 3 stays, the mop they used to wipe the place made the buffet line smell really bad. If you had ever left water that’s use to rinse your mop for a few days stagnant, that was how it smelt like. The breakfast spread was basic, nothing fancy, but nothing too plain either. No bacon, simple eggs, sausages and a couple of Thai dishes in silver warmers.
There’s a Seven Eleven up and out the front on the main road, and another one recently popped up behind where Holiday Inn is. Bicycles were lined up side of the entrance for guest, but hardly seen anyone using them. Cars, if you drive, will be parked under full exposure to the elements. And the lots both sides were really close to each other, so getting your car in and out requires more than just one reverse and a turn. That said, Ibis is really not too bad. Purposed for a simple stay, pack and head out...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Ibis Pattaya and had an overall pleasant experience. Here are some key highlights and areas for improvement based on my stay:Location: 5/5The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from Pattaya Beach and close to several shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment options. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the city.Rooms: 4/5The rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained, reflecting the standard Ibis quality. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities were adequate for a short stay. However, the rooms are somewhat small, which might be a concern for guests planning a longer visit or those traveling with a lot of luggage.Service: 4/5The staff at Ibis Pattaya were friendly and efficient. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the reception was always ready to assist with any inquiries. Housekeeping did a commendable job, keeping the room tidy and well-stocked with essentials.Facilities: 3.5/5The hotel offers basic facilities, including a swimming pool and a restaurant. The pool area is nice, though it can get crowded at times. The restaurant serves a decent breakfast buffet with a variety of options, but the menu could benefit from more diverse offerings for other meals.Value for Money: 4/5Given its prime location and the quality of service provided, Ibis Pattaya offers good value for money. It's a great choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a reliable and comfortable place to stay in Pattaya.Overall: 4/5Ibis Pattaya is a solid option for travelers seeking convenience and comfort without breaking the bank. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in room size and dining options, the positives far outweigh the negatives. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Pattaya for...
Read moreThis time, I came to Pattaya for a meeting with my organization. Since our budget was limited, I had to find an affordable hotel that was close to the meeting venue, restaurants, and other amenities. Ibis Pattaya Hotel met all these needs.
The hotel is located between Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya Second Road, making it a strategic location in Pattaya. There are many restaurants, bars, and convenience stores nearby. You can also walk to the beach, Terminal 21 Shopping Mall, and Central Marina Pattaya Shopping Mall in less than 15 minutes. This makes the area lively with lots of activities to enjoy.
The room I stayed in was a twin-bed room, compact but standard for the Ibis Hotel brand. It had all the necessary amenities, including a fridge, TV, hairdryer, and kettle. The staff were professional, friendly, and provided excellent service. Even though this is a midscale hotel, the staff are well-trained and deliver high-quality service.
The hotel has a swimming pool, bar, and restaurant on the lobby floor. The bar is small, with 5-6 tables, but it is enough for the guests, as most people prefer to go out. The drinks were well-made, meeting standard expectations. Breakfast was quite varied compared to other hotels in the same price range, offering hot dishes, bakery items, tea, coffee, and fresh fruits.
In conclusion, Ibis Pattaya Hotel is in a great location, near the beach, restaurants, bars, convenience stores, Terminal 21, and Central Marina Pattaya Shopping Mall. The area is lively and fun. The hotel also offers good value for money, making it a great choice for travelers looking for an affordable yet comfortable place to stay in Pattaya. I highly...
