July 28-31 2025. We are return customers over several years. The hotel is great for families with young children. Not overly expensive and not overly crowded. The kids can play all day in the pools and keep busy and usually make friends with other kids. There is a big water slide for big kids (5+) and a slide for younger kids in a safe kids area. The are two ‘cliffs’ to jump off… not sure of the heights but the high one take some guts to jump from. The pool is shallow so a 5 year old can stand throughout most of it. The kids loved it. There is a Water volleyball net and a cool waterfall. In the dry area, kids can play basketball with the hoop and there is a mini football playing area for young kids outside the kids club. There is also an adult pool on the 5th floor. Some faults were that one of two lifts was not working … since July 18 until we left on 31st, 2025. I was told they are replacing it so it may be a while. The Buffet breakfast is a let down… I would give it max 4/10. Omelets were runny and selection was pretty basic. I would like to see better BF, and maybe an omelet/egg station like they used to have back before covid. We skipped BF one day since it is really not impressive in my opinion. Guests are forbidden by the hotel to eat or drink anything in the pool area unless it is bought from the hotel otherwise you can be fined Thb 2000 as per their sign. No chips or peanuts etc as I was told. I think there were too many people taking advantage of this in the past hence the restrictions. Although it’s a non-smoking hotel, we came back after dinner to our room smelling like cigarettes. The hotel came and sprayed the room to remove the scent. Too bad some guests don’t think of others. The food by the pool was quite good … wagyu burgers, pizza and fish and chips. All tasted good, especially the Thai food. One big surprise was the cocktails made by ‘Khun Nongnong’ - she made some really great cocktails… (Thb 250 for 2) I was really impressed. Happy Hour from 5-8pm . I would suggest ask from her only. She knows what she is doing. The room was small but ok. We had a twin and pushed the beds together so had a 7ft bed for me and my 5 and 9 year olds to share. Slept well. Bed was comfy. The TV’s are made by Toshiba I think but have very very low number of pixels. I was watching a football game and could not even find the ball. Completely useless TV and might as well not have one. I suggest they replace them all with smart tv’s so guests can watch their own Netflix, Prime ext. This would be a big improvement. One last note is that I saw some tiles falling out around the pool. I think the pool could use some love and attention. I noted that on the deep end under the cliff jumps was lots of leaves gathered at the bottom… a daily morning clean would make a difference. Service was good at reception and the pool bar. The staff in the Breakfast were not smiling so much and were not ‘on the ball’ in my opinion hence 4 stars average. Location is great with only a short 5 min walk down to the beach with lots of other restaurants to try out. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to our friends with young kids. We...
Read moreI stayed this Hotel on June 7th - 8th. Actually I have a Accord member ship but I regret this. I should not pay about this.
In this morning I asked the receptionist to book a taxi to go to the Bang-Kok airport. And my money was stollen by the taxi driver.
My friends and I(3 persons) took a Toyota at 10:30, we put our baggages in the trunk of the taxi. At this time except our stuff, there is nothing in the trunk.
When we go to the airport, the driver stop at KFC, and the driver suggested us to buy some burgers or coffee. After shopping we came back to the car and sat down on the seats, the driver opened trunk and went out to the car.
Because We were eating coffee and bread, I could not check.
And after arriving at the airport I realized that my money was gone.
In my wallet I had only 3,000bat. This is not a big deal. But I was really disappointed with the Hotel front desk.
Already I've arrived at the airport, I don't have any choice except get it away. Nevertheless I contacted to the hotel to inform about this accident to prevent another cases. (so I started my explain.. "first of all, I am already in the airport and take the airplane so I don't have any idea to get my money back, but I'd like to inform you to warn about this....")
At the first phone call after listening my explain , the front desk people arranged a phone call with the driver...
Firstly I could not understand.
....what could I do with the driver??
I asked, "did you steal my money?"
and the driver replied "no, I'm not"
What a joke.
Because I was so angry. before taking the airplane I called one more time.
I requested that let me talk with customers service manager, but the receptionist said "we don't have any position like that"
And she asked why do I want to talk with the manager. I explained again, and she arranged phone call with some one who in charge of taxi booking service.(I'm not sure about this)
And the staff asked one more time, and I explained one more time, after listen my story, her answer was this.
"When could you come back to the pattaya? let's go to the police station together"
They don't have any idea to prevent like this case. I know, even I go to the police station, I can not do anything. And the hotel staffs are also know about this, better than I.
I just want to warn to you who reading my review.
Be careful, do not relieve your mind before leaving the Thailand. Even in the Hotel, or related...

As a tour operator who regularly recommends Accor properties to clients, I recently stayed at various Accor hotels in Thailand to assess their quality firsthand. I stayed at Ibis, Ibis Styles, Mercure, Novotel, Pullman, Sofitel, and Sofitel So, evaluating each brand's hospitality and service. Unfortunately, my experience at Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort was disappointing, especially compared to other Accor properties.
Rooms and Facilities: The rooms were clean and comfortable, equipped with standard amenities that cater to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel features a nice pool area, fitness center, and spa, all of which are well-maintained. However, while the physical aspects of the hotel met expectations, the service did not.
Service: Despite being an Accor Plus Gold Member, I was met with a surprisingly cold and unwelcoming reception. The staff, though polite, seemed untrained and unprepared, lacking the warm hospitality that is usually a hallmark of Accor hotels. Service at the pool, restaurant, and front desk was often slow and uncoordinated. This was a stark contrast to my stay at Ibis Pattaya, where the staff demonstrated far superior hospitality and attentiveness, despite the Ibis brand being a more budget-friendly option.
Dining: The dining experience was average, with a decent selection of local and international dishes. However, service was inconsistent, and staff often appeared overwhelmed, affecting the overall experience.
Location: The hotel's central location is a major advantage, offering easy access to the beach, shopping, and local attractions. This makes it a convenient base for exploring Pattaya.
Overall Experience: Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort has the potential to be a great choice, thanks to its location and well-maintained facilities. However, the untrained staff and lack of welcoming atmosphere significantly diminish the guest experience. As someone who frequently directs clients to Accor properties, the difference in service quality between Mercure and other Accor brands, like Ibis Pattaya, was striking. I hope the management addresses these service gaps, as improved staff training and a more hospitable approach are crucial for maintaining...
