I have visited this hotel (previously Sabai Wing) with four friends several times a year for the last 22 years. |Initially because it used to organise golf trips for us but now primarily because of its 'location. |It is good for nearby shops, restaurants, transport and proximity to the beach. and represented good value for money.|It is advertised as being newly renovated. |The improvements to the exterior were welcome as they knocked down several old buildings. Some rooms were redecorated by painting the existing fixtures and fittings, white. . |My last visit was in May this year and before that last December after they re-opened.|I checked in at about 8.30 pm on a Sunday night and was allocated a room that had not changed in twenty years. |When I called the reception to complain I was told "all rooms are the same" which is not true. Later I asked the same receptionist to leave a note for the GM that I would like to chat to her the next day. |She refused again, after I made a second request. |Some time later I was approached by the Duty Manager who showed me an internal document which listed me as Category B. |Nowhere on their Agoda website (my usual booking agent, Platinum member )is any mention made of Categories. The hotel is under new management after the passing of the previous owner and, I am told, that they employ a "Marketing Consultant" to allocate the rooms. |It seems to me that he has designed a new 'Loyalty' programme which is opposite to all other organisations such as Hyatt, IHG, Emirates, Etihad and Agoda who welcome me back and award me points to use against future bookings. I and my friends are now Category...
Read moreI booked this hotel for the Pattaya marathon but due to illness I missed the run. The hotel kindly moved my booking to the next week which was very nice of them as they had no obligation to do so 🙏 Now the review: The staff at the carpark were really good and smiley and helped with our cases ! Reception very nice and speedy service with a smile 😁 Up to the room and to be fair I was pleasantly impressed as so many hotels show rooms on websites with 20 year old photos ! This room was clean and tidy and had a large balcony overlooking the pool. My only gripe is that the shower water is barely warm but I won't make a fuss as it's Thailand and a warm country 😊 We did not use the breakfast facilities as we are really not breakfast eaters even though I was out jogging at 7am - Brunch at 11am suits me better. The pool looks good but we didn't use it as we were busy with friends etc. Location is above average and a short stroll to the beach is easy enough or stroll to the shops restaurants etc. All in all I was very happy and nothing really to stop me booking again. Note: The cleaner / house keeper on the 3rd floor is so good kind and very beautiful ( don't tell my wife that...
Read moreHotel is located close by by malls and beach. This is a plus. However, the rooms are old, walls has cracks, bad smells coming from toilet or sewers, the sink facet was leaking in my room. But they did try to replace any facet because it is too old and can't be fixed. The hotel only provide to the guests one key per room during stay. Therefore, you will come back room without any air condition. It create lots of moisture too when u leave the door open to the housekeeper for room services for a minute only. The swimming pools is on the ground floor and they have music and refresh drinks provided for the hotel guests. Food is not too expensive and looks good, but I did not try. Breakfasts aeea has air condition and it looks simple, but I did not try. The hotel provide kettle, refrigerator, hair dryer, Qtips, soap but no tooth brush and tooth paste. Lots of hair and nails were found on the floor when check in the room. The air condition vent are very direct and full of dust inside the room.I recommend this hotel because it's convenient...
