Well, where to start.
We are fans already of โLa Campagneโ cafe, the atmosphere especially, which I guess has the same owner with โGather Groundโ cafe because of the same coffee and food menus. We usually visit La Campagne with our dog, but since itโs very far, we decided to check on the Gather Ground which is much closer to our house and we were very disappointed.
Before we went there, I called them and asked if I can come with my dog and sit in the outside area of the cafe which they confirmed. When we arrived, the manager lady who met us was quite unfriendly. I asked her to simply give me water in a cup for my dog, but she told me the following โthe hotel is not pet friendly and there are no special cups for dogs in hereโ. But I never asked her for any โspecial cupโ. She could pour some water in a takeaway container or takeaway coffee cup which they do without saying in La Campagne. Finally she said that okay we can provide water in a takeaway coffee cup but you will have to pay for it. That was just RIDICULOUS!!! I said okay, I will pay. How much? 10 baht for a cup?๐คก
The rest of the serving team seemed fabulous, but not the lady manager. I forgot to ask her name, but she was in charge today 23.01.2024.
I understand that customers with dogs are more complicated to serve and I am always million times sorry for my dog being loud sometimes. I never complain if there are some small mistakes made by the servers and I try to avoid negative reviews, honestly, until things are REALLY in need of a change!
Food and coffee are just the average as usual. I am saying it, because I live in Pattaya for the 3rd year now and Iโve been to places serving much better foods and coffee. But the amazing atmosphere and service in โLa Campagne cafeโ for instance has always made up for the lack of quality of a dining experience which is not the same case with the โGather Groundโ cafe at...
ย ย ย Read moreThe best thing about this place is the cozy, quiet and comfortable atmosphere. The reason it's likely quiet, however, is due to the lack of customers from their insanely expensive prices. A mocha latte is 140 baht and then they impose a mandatory and undisclosed 10% service charge on the bill when it comes time to pay, so the mocha is really 154 baht (USD $4.75)! That is more expensive than back home in the West for a mocha coffee. And, if you want an alternative nondairy milk, such as oat milk, they charge 30 baht (33 baht after 10% service charge) which is USD $1! Again, much more expensive than back home in the West. So, for a regular dairy milk mocha and an ebony brownie I paid 314 baht, about USD $9-10; almost twice the price of all other specialty coffee shops in the area. And the coffee, while OK, is not nearly as good as the cheaper local speciality coffee shops that really make a nice mocha latte, such as Our Shot. I won't be back here again. On a positive note, they do accept credit cards at no...
ย ย ย Read moreA great cozy place for coffee and food. I stayed in other hotel but I walked here every morning for coffee and breakfast. The nitro cold brew is so smooth! I love it! Egg Benedict here is so rich and creamy!! And the best part is the egg cooked just right! The atmosphere and decoration is so cool! I can see myself come here very often if I live in Pattaya! They also have almond milk as alternative...
