PIPPIN — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Can’t cook meat average eatery. Though a nice looking place it proved average. Problems started as soon as we sat down. It was very cold, without actually being close to an air-con vent. We asked if they could turn down the air-con, but they couldn’t as it was centrally controlled by the hotel. So we sat outside and were immediately attacked by mosquitoes. We asked for repellant, but they don’t have any. Luckily my wife remembered she had some so we stayed.

Prices are high so my expectations were too, and they had an interesting menu. I ordered a Dutch surf and turf while another of us had their Dutch salmon. They claim that my beef was ribeye, but it lacked the buttery flavour and was extremely tough. I complained but nothing was done about it. My friend’s salmon was dry too. My wife enjoyed her shrimp pasta though. Their drinks were generally good. It was nice to have a matcha tea that really tasted like Japanese matcha tea. And the cocoa was very tasty too. The cakes looked interesting so we tried the coconut cake and banoffee pie. Both were okay but nothing special. I still might go back to try other things on their menu but will stay away from any expensive meats as they obviously have no idea how...

We had a reserved table so we were seated quickly, drinks orders for 4 people were taken and the drinks arrived 15 minutes later. Food ordering was a nightmare, the waitress was obviously not familiar with the menu. As a result, my wife and I did not get to order a main course and our friend’s main course arrived before his starter.

When we finally sorted out the food ordering, it arrived quite quickly. Portions were small when one considers the price (3 out of 5 for value for money) but they were quite tasty.

A 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill which is something with which I strongly disagree but we were aware of this beforehand.

There is zero staff co-ordination and it was only when I began to show my anger that an experienced waitress was brought in to sort out the ordering fiasco.

All in all, it was still quite a pleasant evening but if one is looking for a sophisticated dining experience then it will not be found at the overpriced and...

เรามาตอนประมาณเที่ยงตรง ตอนที่มามีลูกค้าในร้านประมาณ 2-3 โต๊ะ สั่งเครื่อมดื่มและอาหารไป นั่งไปไม่ถึง 10 นาที เครื่องดื่มก็มา นั่งคุยกับเพื่อนเล่นมือถือ ผ่านไป 30 นาที อาหารยังไม่มา โต๊ะที่มาทีหลังเราได้อาหารแล้ว เริ่มแปลกใจ เพราะอาหารที่เราสั่งคือ scrambled egg กับ spaghetti ซึ่งเป็นเมนูที่ไม่น่าทำนาน จึงเดินไปถามพนักงานว่าอาหารใกล้เสร็จแล้วหรือเปล่า พนักงานก็โยนถามกันไปมา ว่ารับออเดอร์ คีย์ออเดอร์โต๊ะเราหรือเปล่า สรุปแล้วพนักงานในครัวลืมทำอาหารของเรา คือร้านไม่ได้มีลูกค้าเยอะเลย แต่ทำไมการจัดการภายในร้านแย่มาก ซักพัก scrambled egg มาเสิร์ฟ แต่ไม่มีอารมณ์จะกินแล้ว รู้สึกแย่มาก เช็คบิลทันที พนักงานขอโทษนะ แล้วแถมเครื่องดื่มให้อีก 1 แก้ว (ที่ราคาถูกที่สุดของร้าน) แต่ไม่สามารถทดแทนความรู้สึกที่เสียไปได้แล้ว ต้องไปร้านใหม่กิน แทนที่จะได้กินข้าวเที่ยงตอนเที่ยง ต้องได้กินเกือบบ่ายสอง ได้กลับบ้านช้าลง

ร้านสวยนะ บรรยากาศดี สามารถทำให้ร้านนี้เป็นที่ต้อง check in เมื่อมาพัทยาได้ แต่ถ้าเป็นแบบนี้ การจัดการแย่ๆ ร้านนี้ก็จะเป็นร้านอาหารธรรมดาๆ...
