Guesthouse rooms||The service was very good and helpful. The rooms are very beautiful and the bathrooms look perfect as well. Rooms are well maintained with fresh white linen and the overall look is very clean. They are located in the quiet Naithon beach road just on the beach like other similar guesthouses in this beach. You’ll get tv, aircon, fridge, safety deposit box and private bathroom with warm water.||||However, I am sad to say that our (only) problem was the moldy smell that is quite common in these types of flat roofed concrete buildings also in some other guesthouses in this beach. We changed our room, which was of great help but did not solve the problem entirely. Room 7 was mustiest and smallest. Room 5 was quite good considering the mustiness. It was more spacious too with sea view and balcony. The tv screen had some noise in the picture. This room was pre-reserved for other guests so we had agreed to move to room 21 for the rest of our stay. It was also quite okay considering the mustiness but not as good as the number 5. Number 21 was spacious with perfect tv screen but the water temperature in the shower was not entirely stable. Many people have mold in their houses and basements without them even realizing it. If you are one of them not knowing what mould smells like and are not sensitive to it, the rooms especially number 5 are more than okay and more than a two-star place and in this case I would recommend this guesthouse. If you have mold allergy and prioritize super fresh smell over anything else, you might not be entirely satisfied with this.||||The beach||The beach is quiet but popular among Russian tourists. It is a paradise compared to Patong or Kata beaches. You’ll get to eat dinner with your feet in the sand and you don’t need to head for the beach early in the morning to find a free sunbed. However as in many other beaches, be prepared to see a bunch of loosely hanging electric wires above the road and dogs running around, scratching their itchy skins. If you are looking for the perfect diving/snorkelling paradise, this is very good place to start or end your trip because of the proximity to the airport. Use your time to check the underwater world of Koh Waeo (1 km from Naithon) and also the few rocks and corals in the south end of the beach next to this guesthouse: from the small rock formation in the beach, head about 30 m almost towards the Koh Waeo rocky island out in the sea but take about 30 degrees right (you can almost see the tip of few rocks at low tide). However, for a perfect paradise around Phuket area, I would spend most of my time in for example...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay at the Naithon Beach Villa. We stayed for five nights in one of the two bedroom apartments. It was steps away from the beach, and a very nicely furnished apartment. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice big porch with beach view, it was a perfect apartment for us. It's such a luxury to be able to make your own cup of coffee and drink it from the front porch with an ocean view. The location is fabulous, near the south end of Naithon Beach which is very quiet and beautiful. We could not have been happier with the apartment or our stay. Helmut and his family, especially his son Min, were incredibly helpful and friendly. One of our air conditioners stopped working well, and after we told someone, a repair crew was on site within the hour and a little while later the A/C worked perfectly. We didn't notice any of the sewer smells mentioned in other reviews. Helmut's family also helped us organize a rental car and taxis while we stayed, and the Chang on draft at his restaurant couldn't be colder. We hope we'll be able to return to stay with Helmut and his family at the Naithon...
Read moreA family run business, which I always love, with generous sized rooms at a fantastic price for the location. I love finding affordable, homely hotels in overpriced, sought after areas and this is one. The manager, Min, speaks fluent English, which is refreshingly resassuring when preparing for a flight home. Min was really helpful and chilled, even bought me some wrapping paper from the local shop to wrap presents for my son. The hotel has an massage parlour and a local German/Thai restaurant. The beach opposite is stunning and quiet, unlike the tourist machine of Laguna further down the coast. And a short scooter ride from Banana Beach, a stunning place to say Goodbye (or Hello) to your holiday....
