Mama Noi (Hoň) — Restaurant in Sakhu

The food is pretty decent, but the service could be better. Not every dish is good, but the pad thai is decent. Cons:

1. Bad service: We asked to use the wifi as we just arrived and didn't buy a sim card at the airport, but we were told there is no wifi available. An obvious lie since they have wifi camera all over the shop. It would be a much better experience if they can be more friendlier and honest.

To the owner: Originally I gave you a two stars and now I am changing it to one for your bad mouthing your customer. You must be making a good bucks to stream two wifi security cameras via Sim card. Fyi... Sim card does not have a Wifi ID unless it's plugged into a wifi router. I am not accusing you, I know you're bullshitting. Don't attack your customer when you don't like the feedback. Why don't you take a look at your service and reflect on your poor service.

2. there is no view.

I recommend trying 95 Restuarant just 50 meters down the road. It's offer the same price and food is good. Great service, good view of the beacj...

I find this a really difficult review to write. It's clear that Mama Noi is a small, family-run business that aims to make tasty food for good value, and it does succeed at that! The food is very tasty and reasonably priced, and does not have the 'tourist mark-up' that other restaurants do. However, after having prawn pad thai for dinner, my wife got food poisoning. The prawns I had were ok (I haven't become sick), but within about 90 minutes of finishing eating, my wife had a bad reaction that has carried over to the next day. I'm not writing this to disuade people from going, but to warn people of our experience and to make the owners of Mama Noi aware that something isn't right.

We ate here based on reviews of the restaurant claiming this is the best Thai food people have eaten while here - well, where have these people been eating!? We had Tom yum soup which was quite good, but the pad Thai did not taste like traditional pad Thai we have eaten in other restaurants, it seemed to be drowning in a sweet and sour sauce and was basically wrapped in an omelette rather than having egg mixed into the dish. You can get much better meals at other restaurants in the local area with a much better atmosphere. The restaurant is very basic and scantily clad, which would be fine if the food made up for that, but it didn’t....
