🌴 Shameena Restaurant — a hidden gem of Phuket 🌴
Sometimes life surprises you in the most unexpected places. We had just stepped off the beach when we came across this small, slightly weathered café. At first glance, nothing too special. But everything changed the moment we ordered food.
That’s when the magic happened. Every single dish that came to our table was a masterpiece. Not just tasty — but the kind of flavors that give you goosebumps. And I mean that literally: the food was so good it sent chills down my skin.
📌 What amazed us most: • Each dish had its own unique character, perfectly balanced with spices, freshness, and richness. • The portions were generous, much bigger than expected. • We were just two adults and a small child, yet the service and presentation felt like we were a full party. • All the dishes — and we ordered quite a few — were served in less than 15 minutes (to be precise, 14.5). And the quality? Absolutely outstanding.
🥢 Pad Thai, a fragrant coconut milk soup with prawns, fried rice, stir-fried vegetables, seafood… everything tasted so incredible that it was hard to believe it all came out of such a modest-looking restaurant.
✨ The staff deserves a special mention. Warm, smiling, attentive — they create an atmosphere of kindness and hospitality. You don’t feel like just a customer here; you feel like a welcomed guest.
And here lies the paradox: from the outside, Shameena looks like a simple, unassuming spot. But inside, I experienced what I would call the best Thai food I’ve had in Phuket.
Our whole family was blown away. This place instantly became one of our favorites, and there’s no doubt we’ll be coming back.
🔥 I wholeheartedly recommend stopping here if you’re anywhere nearby. You won’t regret it. Huge thanks to the chef and the wonderful team at Shameena Restaurant for turning a meal...
Read moreThe experience I had with the host was truly disappointing and upsetting. When I politely asked for a seat in an empty area, he rudely told me it was reserved in a dismissive and unfriendly manner. I decided to sit inside and informed the waitress that I would shift if any other seating became available, to which she kindly agreed. A few minutes later, when a guest left, I once again asked about the seat, only to be met with the same rude and harsh response from the host, as if my presence was a bother.
This behavior left me feeling embarrassed and humiliated, especially when I noticed others around me smirking. It was incredibly offensive, and I couldn’t help but wonder if this treatment was due to the fact that I am not white. I walked out feeling angry, disrespected, and hurt. I had heard so many good things about this place, but this experience was beyond disappointing. No one deserves to be...
Read moreCan’t understand the high rating of this restaurant. It’s nothing special. Have eaten better or at least same but cheaper in other restaurants on this road. Even some street food tasted more fresh and better. Environment looks nice, staff are friendly. They try to make every food nice looking, but I would prefer that they focus more on the taste. Had seafood salad which came with fried stuff and ordinary supermarket sauce. The pad Thai tasted a bit too sweet and the prawns must haven‘t seen water for a long time. Maybe they have good cuisine but unluckily we didn’t have them. Anyway, we will spend our money elsewhere For our...
