Just spent 4 days in Naithon Beach. Having seen this quiet beach and small guest house 15 years ago, as senior travelers we wanted to come back and are so glad we did. This has our hearty recommendation as a special place for R&R. It might sound like a 3 star experience, but overall we would give it 4 stars. We like fewer rooms but nice clean rooms. Rachael, our young hostess manager, provides it all. As she does not have a web site, we needed to search hard to get an email contact which is naithonbeachhouse@hotmail.com or maengmum@hotmail.com . As we were planning this trip at the end of a long time in Nepal, we emailed Rachael months ahead of time to book this room. As asked, we did prepay using Paypal and the room rates was around $80 per night. While we did have a concern about prepaying, it all worked out fine and is understandable with people changing plans and no shows. The two story guest house is small and not impressive from the street. Also, it does not have any signage, but is just across the street from Rachael’s restaurant called “Beach House Restaurant”. The bottom portion has Rose Massage—also owned and managed by Rachael--which we used several times in our rooms. We saw only our room (on front, small balcony, with an ocean view through trees and power lines) and another which was more quiet and faced the back foothills. Both rooms were very spacious and super clean. The A/C and a separate fan made for extra comfort. Wifi is good in the room and on the beach although It is often turned off at late night and turned on again mid morning. Rachael and her Dad picked us up at midnight at the airport just 15 minutes away (but you would never know it, as this beach feels secluded) and we were quickly happily settled into our room. A simple breakfast is included at the restaurant, but things don’t start up until 10AM with breakfast available by 11AM. We plugged in the hot water tea pot in the downstairs hall and used our instant coffee to tide us over to breakfast. We ate all our meals at this restaurant. The staff was super friendly, the beer cold, and the Thai food prepared colorfully and very tastfully. You can run a tab and pay all this at the end which was nice too. As an adjunct to the restaurant, there is an ample supply of umbrellas with chaise lounges making for lazy hours on the beach. The ocean temperature was perfect, the sand and water clean, and the small waves good for easy, short body-surfing. We encountered no other Americans. Many Russians, some Germans, French and Korean families enjoyed this nice...

Lots of street vendors where you can get fruit etc. We had a room in the 9000-building, our room 9320 was the furthest away from the main areas which we really liked. Nice and quiet surroundings just by the lagoon pool and gym. Gym is well equipped and works well for some vacay training. Breakfast was really good, serving everything from noodle soup to hamburgers. The convenience store opens a bit late (10am). Tried the hotel restaurants on a few occassions but can't recommend. Staff speaks poor english, even at the reception. No staff corrected guests when not wearing face masks in common areas. On a daily basis, you could only see cleaning, restaurant and reception staff. There were no one overlooking the pools and common areas making sure that there were no food/drink/pee-parties in the pool. If that would have been done, they could have avoided lots of trouble with the lagoon pool. The pool at the front of the hotel is also nice but more crowded. We were a bit lazy and decided to use the hotel's laundry service which was a BIG mistake. 1800 baht (no joke) to clean a few t-shirts and underwear. The same amount of clothes cost us 230 baht to get cleaned the week after. Cleaning staff did a good job but took money from the room. Our 3 yo son saved our coins in order to buy himself a toy but everytime we left new coins in the room the cleaning staff took it. All in all, we probably lost 200 baht this way. Very loud between hotel rooms, you can hear...
Read moreThe hotel is located 8 kilometers from the airport. The hotel is not new, but in principle well-groomed consists of 9 buildings of different heights. A definite plus is the presence of a sandy beach (across the road). In January, the sea is gorgeous, there are practically no warm waves. In August, the waves - it is impossible to swim. We were by car so we went to swim at other beaches. Buffet breakfast - simple no frills (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, soup, cereal, rice, beans, chicken, sausages, mashed potatoes, ham, noodles, breaded vegetables, croissants, waffles and pancakes) Dragon fruit and watermelon. 7 types of juices. Nothing has changed for 7 years 🤷♂️. The restaurant is open during the day and in the evening - in principle, not bad. At the entrance to the hotel pizzeria - you can eat on the spot or take away. There are 2 large pools with sun loungers on the territory of the hotel - but you need to take places at 6 am, as there are much more people who want to lie down to sunbathe than there are places😂. There is also a laundry washing 50 baht, drying 50 baht. There is a gym, not bad enough, everyone will find something to do. There is also table tennis and billiards. Outside the hotel there are a couple of cafes, several massage parlors, an exchange office and a shop. literally 500 meters away is the elephant nursery. Interesting to go. There is not much entertainment, if you are used to noisy fun, then this hotel is not for you or you need to have transport to leave. Suitable for families with children - but an aqua park would be cool. As a result: the hotel is good, as they say...
