Baan KhaoSoi - Townhouse & Rooftop in Talat Noi — Hotel in Talat Noi Subdistrict

The mattress on the floor was worn out - We could feel every knobbly spring and couldn't sleep at all. The sheets had holes in them. Weird stains on the walls and rotten patches all along the floor. An ants nest in the wall at one point near the bed. Only some of the windows had curtains and those that were there were thin white sheets that didn't meet. The roof terrace was full of rotting scrap wood and only had 1 chair. I have no idea where the good reviews came from. This was the worst place we have stayed in in Bangkok. Thankfully the owner did offer us a full refund and apologisd that he would not be able to fix all the issues straight away. But that doesn't explain why it was rented...

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! The room was spacious and tidy, the bed was also very comfortable. The hosts were accommodating, and were always at the end of the phone if we needed anything. The townhouse is well-situated and within walking distance of China town, and the trendy Song Wat Road. It is also only a short walk (approx 13 mins) to Hua Lampong MRT station. The rooftop was the highlight of our trip, we spent every night taking in the city views with a cold beer. I would highly recommend staying here, I would come back in a heartbeat if I find myself in...

It was a pleasant surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place looks as is in the photos, very homey and clean. Lots to discover around the area (cafes, eateries) it’s perfect if you’re looking to experience a different (chill) side of Bangkok and spend your days walking/biking around. Many thoughtful touches around the space and the rooftop was the perfect place to grab some drinks at night – try their homemade wine!
